This piece and the music video were produced amid the pandemic in our tiny basement and much larger backyard. "Genious Mistakes" is a project by Brooklyn Shanti and Vishal Kanwar, who took a mere couple of hours to put this piece together using an excerpt of "Letters from India," written during my studies in New Delhi. Directing the video and choosing the props was fun - we only had an hour to record before dusk, so I had to quickly improvise. My experience as an avant-garde performer came in handy, as did Shanti's excellent skills as a cameraman. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously, in stark contrast to the hard times I had in Delhi when I wrote the "Letters."
