Arlington Master Chorale

Arlington Master Chorale The Arlington Master Chorale is a self-supporting, non-profit, volunteer chorus. Today, the organization exists as the Arlington Master Chorale.

The Arlington Master Chorale began in 1973 as the Arlington Civic Chorus, founded by members of First Presbyterian Church and Michael Kemp. Over the past 5+ decades, the group evolved from a humble community choir into a polished ensemble with international acclaim. Under the leadership of directors like Dr. David Keith, Jing Ling-Tam, Henry Gibbons, Randy Jordan, and Reginal Wright, AMC has perfo

rmed major works such as Verdi’s Requiem, Bach’s Magnificat, and Orff’s Carmina Burana in venues across England, Austria, Italy, and Carnegie Hall. On the 20th anniversary of 9/11, AMC provided the World Premiere of Elaine Hagenburg's spectacular and deeply moving, Illuminare. In 2023, members of the choir joined with choruses from around the world to present the European premiere of the same piece in London, England. The choir has collaborated with renowned composers and conductors, including John Rutter, Z. Randall Stroope, Mack Wilberg, and Miguel Harth-Bedoya, and partnered with the Fort Worth Symphony and local youth choirs. AMC is deeply committed to education and community, offering scholarships and mentoring young singers. With a legacy of artistic excellence and heartfelt service, AMC continues to uplift audiences and represent Arlington with pride. AMC begins its 2025-2026 season with new Artistic Director, Kay Owens.

Tomorrow, Thursday, April 16, you can help make a big difference for the Arlington Master Chorale! The Giana Foundation Fund, the Robert B. and Virginia Payne Fund for Arts & Culture, and Communities Foundation of Texas have partnered to offer $100,000 in dollar-for-dollar matching funds for donations to small arts organizations like ours. Individual gifts of up to $100 are eligible to be matched—but funds are limited and expected to go quickly.

Your gift supports our mission to bring beautiful choral music to the North Texas community as well as support the next generation of musicians through clinics in classrooms with composers, music scholarships, and more!

Matching of gifts begins at 12:01 am on April 16 and continues until the full $100,000 is claimed. We would be incredibly grateful for your support! Here is a link to our giving page:

Since 1986, Dr. Jane Silvey Andrews (aka "Saint Jane") has been AMC's principal rehearsal and performance pianist. Friday night, we honored her with a Lifetime Achievement Award for her tireless dedication to AMC. She makes us better, and we our very fortunate to continue to have her working her magic on the piano! We love you, Dr. Andrews!
