The Washington County Fair is saddened by the loss of Bob McKay of McKay Rodeo Co.. Bob was a great friend and partner of our rodeo for a number of years. His positive attitude and laughter will remain with us forever..
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the McKay Rodeo Co.family and all who knew Bob and enjoyed the wonderful events he helped create across the region.
Rest in peace Bob.

Congratulations to our 2 drawing contest winners this year! The drawing contest theme was the same as the fair — “Stars, Stripes, and Fair Nights”

All of our entries were amazing, and their drawings based on the theme were so fun to see!

The Kids Barn volunteers narrowed it down to the top 4 drawings in each age group, and we took them to the fair office for voting! The fair board, associates, staff, and other volunteers had an opportunity to vote on them during the last day of the fair.

Great work, ladies! Your drawings will be hung in the Kids Barn for years to come!

If you’d like your child’s drawing back, they will be at the Washington County extension office for pick-up this week! 597 Grant St #200 Blair, NE.

It was a great fair week. But the fair actually started weeks ago with the moving of the south ag and goat and horse buildings to their new locations next to the beef barn. You will see pictures of that process among this assortment photos.
