Once an animal is born there are two things we can do to either help them or hurt them and that’s feed and how you handle them. Feed is crucial to your animal feeling their best. Feeding a ruminate is so drastically different than feeding a simple stomach animal.

Things to keep in mind:
1. How many sources of protein are you using?
2. What is the quality of the vitamins and minerals you’re using?
3. Are you attempting to use anything that isn’t rumen protected?
4. How does your hay test? This a drastic mistake a lot of people make, they don’t know how good or bad their hay is or what’s in it.
