Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington is dedicated to presenting and supporting new work by regional artists in the mid-Atlantic States. Through exhibitions, educational programs, and subsidized studio spaces, MoCA Arlington serves as a bridge between artists and the public. The goal is to increase awareness and appreciation of, and involvement in, the visual arts in Arlington County VA and the reg

ion. MoCA Arlington was established in 1974 and is located in an historic school in Virginia Square. Our facility includes nine exhibition galleries, working studios for thirteen artists, and two classrooms. At 17,000 square feet, we are one of the largest non-federal venues for contemporary art in the Washington metropolitan area.

MoCA Arlington’s summer exhibitions open Saturday, June 27! We’ve got two wonderful group exhibitions and four fantastic solo shows for you to see.

Material Matters brings together nine alumni of MoCA Arlington’s residency program, with a focus on material experimentation. The exhibition features work by Negar Ahkami, Shahla Arbabi, Roxana Geffen, Sarah Hardesty, Marissa Long, Danielle Mysliwiec, Ryan McCoy, Foon Sham, and Rachel Schmidt and is curated by Amanda Jirón-Murphy, MoCA Arlington curator and residency program manager.

SOLOS 2026 continues with three new solo exhibitions: Crasis: Rude Screen, Rowena Federico Finn: [fab-ri-keyt], and Lou Haney: Window Dressing.

In the Wyatt Resident Artists Gallery, Rebecca Rivas Rogers presents Attention to Detail a solo exhibition of new painting.

In the Jenkins Community Gallery, works from the collection of Kathy and Jerry Freshley speak to their decades-long commitment to supporting art and artists in Arlington and beyond.

Join us on Saturday, June 27, 5pm-8pm for Art After Hours! Celebrats the new exhibitions, meet exhibiting artists, visit resident artist studios, and enjoy Negar Ahkami’s interactive dance experience Y’all Go Rhythm in the Tiffany Gallery.

Summer camps at MoCA start in just a couple of weeks! Do you have a young artist at home? From painting and drawing to sculpture and ceramics, you are sure to find a camp that will inspire them! Summer programs are offered for ages 5-7, 8-10, 11-14, and 14-18. Summer camp season runs from June 22 through August 21.

We offer camps in three locations!
1. Most camps are offered onsite at the museum in Virginia Square.
2. Ceramics camps are hosted on Marymount University’s main campus.
3. Two weeks of camp will be piloted at MoCA’s Innovation Studio + Store in National Landing!
