ANNOUNCING 💃🏾 On June 5-6, Opera Arlington and the Mansfield Philharmonic proudly present Bizet’s iconic opera, CARMEN. 🌟 With the FIFA World Cup casting its global spotlight on Arlington, this Carmen is reimagined amid the restless energy of a nation gripped by the far-reaching passions of “the beautiful game.”

Bizet’s legendary score surges with heat, color, and raw emotion, brought vividly to life by DFW’s opera stars, in collaboration with the Mansfield Philharmonic under the baton of Dr. Eldred Marshall. Directed by Eliza Escalante and presented in the original French with English supertitles, this bold new production asks what it means to live freely... no matter the cost.

📆 Dates: Friday and Saturday, June 5th and 6th, 2026 at 7:00pm

📍 Location: Trinity UMC Arlington (1200 W Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington, TX)

⏱️ Duration: approx. 3 hours, including one 20-minute intermission

👠 Optional Dress Code: Come dressed in your best 1920’s glam!

🚨 ATTENTION TEA SIPPERS 🚨 Due to illness in the cast, this event has a new performance date. Please mark your calendar for SUNDAY, JUNE 14th at 3:00pm.

At Opera Arlington, we believe that supporting our artists is the only way to produce the high quality music our community deserves. We take the health of our singers and productions seriously which includes making tough calls when illness strikes. Even though we are disappointed about this weekend, we are more thrilled than ever to share this wonderful program at a later date! We hope that you will still join us to sip tea, nibble treats, and listen to spectacular singing in support of our mission to serve artists and bring joyful opera experiences to our community.

A round of applause for our final 🌟 Singer 🌟 at this week's Masterclass with

Alan Hollinger is a baritone from Killeen, Texas. He completed a Bachelor of Arts in Church Music from Baylor University, where he is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Music Theory. His first involvement in opera was his Junior year when he sang Papa Bear in Goldie B. Locks and the Three Singing Bears. Recently, he has sung Vater in Hänsel und Gretel with Baylor Opera Theatre, Leporello with Music on Site, and the title role in Gianni Schicchi with Opera Atchley. He is a student of Dr. Kimberly Monzón.

Meet another 🌟 Singer 🌟 For this week's Masterclass with

Rebecca Germany, soprano, is a native of Arlington who made her Opera Arlington debut as the Foreign Princess in Rusalka. She has also appeared as Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors with Fort Worth Opera. Rebecca was a Semi-Finalist in  Dallas Opera Guild Bilenial Lone Star Vocal Competition, and sang at the International Summer Opera Festival of Morelia (ISOFOM) as First Lady in Die Zauberflöte. She has also  performed with the Fort Worth Opera Chorus in Aida and An African American Requiem.  Rebecca performed the title role of Puccini’s Suor Angelica with ISOFOM. During her Master's studies, she portrayed Armelinde in Pauline Viardot’s Cendrillon and the Mom in the world premiere of Alejandro Rutty’s Alison’s Voice.  Rebecca received her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro; she also holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Choral Music Education from the University of Texas at Arlington.
