Destruction of identity continues to be the favorite weapon of tyranny. People who seek to control and dominate others have always understood that the connection to our history and origins is a source of passion that fuels resistance to suppression and subjugation. Oppressors believe that denying people the ability to know who they are, where they come from, and how we have arrived at this moment in time will extinguish a fervor and fury that will undermine their systems of terror and exploitation. They will always underestimate the persistence of diversity as a force of relentless evolution.
As a bi-racial woman, I am a proud representation of intersectionality! I am a member of the Rainbow Coalition, I have ADHD, and I am on the spectrum. I served in the military to protect the freedoms of my fellow Americans, regardless of their orientation or identity. I value and celebrate the brilliance of the colorful tapestry that we weave together as humans. It is our diverse heritage, our uniqueness, and our shared stories that make us great. To ignore and deny any part of our past triumphs, or tragedies, is a fundamental rejection and betrayal of all of our ancestors and perpetuates the continued suppression of the human soul.
As a business owner, I will use my platforms and resources to elevate and CELEBRATE marginalized people! More than ever I am committed to showcasing the entire spectrum of individual self-expression. Our events are intentionally inclusive and showcase the diversity of talent and performance range within our community.
We encourage the expression of creativity and social audacity! We welcome and embrace individuals to engage and interact with diversity in a way that makes them feel seen and included.
We hold a firm boundary around the spaces that we have created and say with our full chest that we do not tolerate hate, bigotry, racism, sexism, ageism, ableism, violence, or oppression. We hold space for expanding awareness and realignment when we fall short. We encourage progress, not perfection in others. Acceptance is powerful, but Authenticity is empowerment.
Let us all say, Asé
