For five years, it has haunted you. You’ve entered long-forgotten rooms of unspoken horrors, followed seemingly never-ending halls of illusions, tiptoed through the murky waters of darkened coal mines, and filled up on terror at a “killer” garage.

Welcome to the fifth chapter of Hersheypark Dark Nights. You survived its houses and scare zones so far, but can you withstand the REESE’S DEPOT OF DOOM?

Congratulations to our friends at Hersheypark on five years of Dark Nights attractions as connected to its popular Hersheypark Halloween. Adirondack Studios’ team of haunt masters has been involved in Dark Nights for all of its five seasons, providing fabrication and onsite set decoration for its “Kill ‘N Fill”, “Estate of Evil”, “Auntie Mortem’s Abattoir”, “Twisted Carnevil” and “Haunted Coal Mine” houses, as well as its “Path of Shadows: Coven’s Curse” scare zone. In addition to fabricating “hero” elements, “e-skin,” and props in both our Orlando and upstate New York production facilities, our annual scope has included installation of all the houses and zones, performing on-site finishing, props fabrication, set dressing, and post-opening fine-tuning. We’ve even produced hero graphics for “Kill ‘N Fill” and “Path of Shadows” for use in Hersheypark’s website, social and merchandise.

But the scares don’t end there. This year, we provided fabrication and onsite set decoration for Hersheypark Dark Nights’ newest Scare Zone – “Reese’s Depot of Doom,” Dark Night’s first haunted attraction to leverage a Hershey IP. Follow the fractured tracks, but beware. The freight yard may look abandoned, but it comes alive at night with shadowy trespassers starving for company. Navigate the fog-drenched boxcars with caution. Will you escape the Depot, or will you be doomed forever?

Hersheypark Dark Nights, a USATODAY10Best Theme Park Halloween Event, runs weekends now through November 1.

Congratulations and thanks to our own team of conjurers: Abigail Cox, Adam Kruger, Benjamin Brown, Bree Perry, Brian Bentley, Bruce Nancarrow, Courtney Harwood, Cynthia Lee, Devin Fitzpatrick, Emmett Lee, Garfield Jones, Glenn Sturgis, Gwen Sadler, Jake Krasnove, Jason Ortega, Jason Woodard, Jeff DuVilla, John Getty, Jonathan Elfers, Justine Schneider, Kelly Vincent, Luc Rockwell, Madison Carpenter, Margaret Bollendorf, Marney Miller, Matthew Cone, Matt Jackson, Matthew Johnson, Matthew Pelzzer, Matthew Winch, Michael Bollendorf, Michael Colon, Michael Federico, Michele Molea, Noah Schmitt, Pamela Fryer, Robert Bentley, Robert Craig, Stanicka Mathurin, Stella Lee, Tara Dirga, Tony Shortway, Wayne Idecker, Wesley Craig

The mountain has been contaminated, and Camelback Resort PA is sending guests into the danger zone. The Curse of Camelback, a brand-new immersive Halloween attraction, is now open at Camelbeach, transforming the waterpark and surrounding mountain terrain into a post-apocalyptic nightmare filled with toxic fumes, mutated residents, eerie tunnels and unexpected scares.

The experience begins at the base of the mountain, where guests are recruited for a fictional emergency-response mission after chemicals from new trail construction mix with pool-cleaning compounds, creating toxic fumes that spread throughout the mountain and cause those exposed to them to mutate.

Guests board the mountain lift and travel into the Containment Zone, where they navigate fog-filled attractions, abandoned camps, chemical spills, barricades, eerie tunnels and maze-like paths while encountering mutated characters and jump scares along the way. Elaborate sets, special effects and costumed characters help bring the fictional outbreak to life.

The mission reaches its final stage with an encounter with Gary, the outbreak’s hideously transformed “patient zero.” Guests must make their escape through a series of final scares before reaching the Decontamination Zone – where the mission ends and Halloween treats and drinks await.

Camelback Resort invited ADKS to provide specialty creative design-build services for their debut haunt experience, including concept advancement, narrative and experience development, pre-construction design documentation, fabrication planning, selected fabrication, and onsite installation support. Rather than develop a traditional haunted house or fully enclosed maze, our approach focused on transforming Camelback’s existing outdoor environment — including the ski lift, splash park zone, available infrastructure, and existing equipment — into a scare-focused, atmospheric, and story-driven guest experience. The result is a haunt offering that balances seasonal thrills with broad audience appeal, integrates effectively into the resort’s existing guest journey, and supports safe, efficient operational ex*****on.

Experience “The Curse of Camelback” through November 8th. For tickets and information, visit https://www.camelbackresort.com/mountain-adventure-park/curse-of-camelback, and watch this spooky space for behind-the-screams content.

Congratulations to the guys and ghouls who brought this project to life (or in this case, to undead): Charlie Rau, Glenn Sturgis, Jeff DuVilla, Kelly Vincent, Marney Miller, Matthew Cone, Matt Jackson, Michael Colon, Russell Poole, Steve Howey, Tara Dirga, Wayne Idecker, Wesley Craig, and Wendy Bink.
