North Country Fair Arcata The North Country Fair is a two-day festival held on the Arcata Plaza on the third full weekend of Sept. Presented by the Same Old People since 1974.

The North Country Fair is an annual two-day festival held on the Arcata Plaza in Arcata, CA the third full weekend in September. The Fair includes around 200 craft, food, and information booths, two parades, two stages, and a lawn performance area. An estimated 10,000 people come from everywhere to help us celebrate the diversity within our community and our world. The Fair is a gathering of craftspeople, artisans, musicians, and community groups celebrating the survival of human economy based on resilience, cooperation, mutual aid, and respect for all life on earth. In an effort to reduce our impact on the planet, the Fair has again teamed up with Zero Waste Humboldt to work toward a goal of zero waste. Look for ZWH volunteers around the Fair to help you sort your compost, recycling and trash. The Same Old People again invite you to observe the Equinox and the change of seasons at the North Country Fair! Please join us on the Arcata Plaza, Saturday and Sunday, the third weekend of September each year, from 10am to 6pm. All Species Parade - Saturday at 1pm

One of the Fair’s values is creating and contributing to a healthy environment and we are proud of our efforts to minimize the effects of this event. We couldn’t do it without support from Curbside Composting who takes all compostable materials, brightandgreen for providing reusables to all our food vendors, Coalition for Responsible Transportation Priorities for coordinating a record year for the bike valet and Recology for supporting us by providing trash services. It was extra fun this year to share the smoothie bike with NCGA Farmers' Markets - eating local has an enormous impact on our individual carbon footprint and helps out the local economy and the smoothie bike for Local Food month was a great representation of that!

Also, a huge shoutout to Harper, who coordinated all volunteer efforts to educate fair attendees and sort every piece of waste created by the Fair and did an AMAZING job.

Don’t forget your reusables for the fair tomorrow!

We recommend
- A cup for b**r (or Muse Cafe matcha)
- Reusable utensils for some food. Check out the center diagonals for Pupuseria San Miguel or Filipino Cuisine or Lourdes or Mainely 🦞 Lobster other delish food. Greenware plates from brightandgreen will also be available.
- A reusable bag (I use this one from Los Bagels for everything). Forgot one? Support a local artist and pick up a new one!
- A water bottle (not shown, mine is old and banged up from Adventures Edge). Get some new stickers to decorate your bottle at the fair.

Looking for a specific vendor? Finding the performer lineup for the weekend? Need a bandaid? Want a hug? Visit the INFO BOOTH on the corner of G and 9th.

B**R BOOTHS in front of Hot Knots and Arcata Chamber of Commerce/Jacoby’s Storehouse.

FOOD BOOTHS are on the diagonals leading toward H st.

WATER refill stations on the corner of H and 8th by the food booths, info booth, the Plaza stage and Daydream stage.

Coalition for Responsible Transportation Priorities BIKE VALET behind the Carl Poly Humboldt bookstore.

NCGA Farmers' Markets MARKET located on 8th and I st in front of the North Coast Co-op.

Stars on the map indicate fun EXPERIENCES like an art installation from South Americana tales, Bogglebang Spoon circus of Humboldt! and Playhouse Arts & Arcata Playhouse collaborative cardboard castle art installation.

PARADES are at 1pm each day. The All Species Parade is Saturday. Samba do Mar Humboldt and Samba da Alegria Samba Parade is Sunday.

brightandgreen will be there with reusables and our own ZERO WASTE coordinator and volunteers will help at waste stations!

What even is the North Country Fair? Arcata’s largest art and music event is two days of fun on the Arcata plaza. Happening this weekend on Sept 19 & 20, 2026!

We are a stand alone nonprofit who works on just this one event each year. This is not a fundraiser event and any small profits we make get rolled over into planning the event for the next year. We love our artist community and put our ❤️ into it by throwing a big party to celebrate each year.

The “Same Old People” are dedicated to continuing the tradition of the fair as a community event true to the original spirit established in 1974.

We celebrate and advocate for a healthy environment, cooperation and community, a vibrant alternative economy, and justice for every person and all forms of life.
