So today is mom’s Birthday !

Please pray for us as it has been a tough day ! I stopped by mom grave this morning and tried to sing the whole song to her, Trust and Obey.
I took breakfest to Riley at work, I drove to Amish country today picked up the camper and brought it home and stopped at the monument for the Copus massacre. I then stopped at another cemetery to find a couple graves, went by to see uncle Bobs grave and my cousin Matt’s grave. Just a restful day doing nothing but what I wanted to do. I would say it was a heart felt trip and mom would have been so proud to have ridden along if she was here to see everything I did today !

I bought spring bulbs this weekend to plant at the cemetery next week and I hope they bloom next spring as she loved her tulips and daffodils. She loved the sweet fragrances of them !
She loved the beauty of the flowers in the spring !

I am pleased to say I have some of the best young people working for us and this whole wide world. So the night before last we were a little heavy on labor so we were able to walk around the Hardin County Fair and see a few things that we wanted to say, as I’m walking up to Pony Ride, I’m seeing this young family standing in front of the ticket booth and as I got closer, I thought what in the world is going on what is the hold up? Why aren’t my people helping my customers at the window, there was several people in line. As I got closer, I seen this young family wrestling with tubes and wires and different medical devices and I thought I’m just going to watch and see what’s happening here and see how my employees are going to react because I just knew that this little guy was going to want to ride a pony.

So I stood back and watched in the people move the child’s mobility unit to the side of the ticket booth and so I preceded to walk into the pony rides and I said hey guys, how’s things going and the one little Asian girl that works for said oh things are gone great And before I knew it, she was allowing this little boy on a ventilator, and he had some other devices on him and he was assisting this family on putting this child on our ponies so after the crowd died down a little bit, I asked her I said Van, did you know that that little boy was going to be riding the ponies and she smiled real big and she said I did and I said you guys do not know how happy this makes me that you made this happen even when I was not around and I want you to know that the decision you made was absolutely the correct decision and I would’ve made the same decision as well and she smiled and kind of her shoulders and turned her head. She was so proud of herself when they ask her this guy ride the ponies and she said yes. Not only do I give her kudos, but I also give, Landon and Kiley, kudos for walking slowly with the ponies so that little boy would be able to Ride the ponies safely needless to say each one of my employees got a bonus that night and the only reason they got the bonus they did was not because we were extremely busy, but we had a great day, but it was because they created a memory for this little boy and for his family for the rest of their lives.

So we received a message today and it was actually from this little boys family and I can’t say enough about how well these kids maneuvered and handled this situation as well as Riley and I would have if not even better so I want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts Once again for creating creating this memory for this little boy and his family and always know where there is a well there is a way to make things like this happen guys. You did a great job and I’m very proud of each of you.

Good evening friends !

We have had an amazing week at the Hancock Co Fair !

We broke some records this week but most of all, we could not have done it without our amazing customers !

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we had two record breaking days with the train running at the fair this year !

Did everyone enjoy The Hope Express trackless Train ?

Thank you to the Hancock County Fair Board for allowing the train to run the grounds this year !

Thank you also to the fair Board for allowing us to bring our friend into the fair this year with their Rides. McGinnis amusements have been in business for several decades and are well respected by being a premier Ride company here in Ohio by the state of Ohio ride inspectors ! They do a great job and provide quality Rides, sweet treats for the whole family ! We met them when we bought the day pony rides 4 years ago and Francis, Tia, Nick and Nick Jr. have become some of our very best friends /family !

If you joyed the Ride Company this year and the The Hope Express Train this year, make sure you let your fairboard Representative know from your township or call the office and let them know and show them some appreciate for having a great fair this year !

The Hancock County Fair has been an amazing week ! We have been with so many friends this week ! Everywhere we are, we create memories after memories! Many have reflected on the wonderful memories of the past with mom, we have the wonderful Jackson family on one side of us and the cane family on the other side of us at the camping area. Then down at the pony rides, we have our wonder friends, Francis, Nick, and Nick Jr, and great auntie Tia with McGinnis amusements ! The company continues to so many
Of Riley’s friends, moms Friends and my friends come and reflect on the many Memories they had of mom and Riley and I.

We are so blessed with so many people we have met over the years with my
4-H career, Riley’s 4-H career and just being at the fair for over 50 years ! The friends and acquaintances over the years we have been part of this fair, have just been amazing ! Who would have know 50 years ago when I was a kid that I would be the owner of one of the most amazing and memorable things at the fair , Hickle Pony Rides, Gottfried Pony Rides and now Patterson Pony Rides !

We are just beyond blessed to be the owner of one of the only businesses that have created memories after memories at the fairs year after year as Patterson Pony Rides here in the state of Ohio !

I must mention, how wonderful the Hancock Co. Fair Board has been to us since we bought the business just 4 years ago ! From John, Shelly, Britta, and the entire Hancock Co. Fairboard, Thank You so much for allowing us to be part of your team. 2027 will be our 5th year that we have been creating memories at many fairs and festivals in the state of Ohio !

To our wonderful and valued families that have entrusted us to help create memories for years to come for your family, it has been a privilege, and a pleasure to provide our services to your families ! We look forward to many more years to come !

Thank you so much for your kindness to my mother who served as our ticket lady for the first 3 years we have been in business ! She enjoyed each and every family she met, she love the children and their families and she would always reminisce how cute and wonderful all the families were each and every day ! I do not know how many times she just gave so many of the children free Rides or a free cowboy hat. She loved 🥰 the children and their families dearly and she would brag on how wonderful her day was on the remarkable families and children she met ! She never met a stranger ! She would reflect on the children, families and just smile from ear to ear when she would talk about them and how cute they all were ! Thank you for making her last 3 years remarkable by the love you shared for my mother !
