School of Psychogeographic Arts/Ross Sheehan Studio

School of Psychogeographic Arts/Ross Sheehan Studio The School of Psychogeographic Arts offers year-round kids art classes during after school and evening hours and FRIDAY HALF DAYS.

In the summer, there are week-long summer camps. Ross Sheehan founded the School of Psychogeographic Arts in 2022. Psychogeographic Art can be created from the reaction of how places make us feel. Exploring your city, town, landscapes, seascapes, edgelands, or other spaces (specifically through acts of walking) can act as a powerful catalyst for creating art. The School of Psychogeographic Art con

centrates on reacting and reimagining the encountered buildings, parks, landmarks, natural areas, streets, architecture, histories, and other hidden and marginalized spaces in and around the Seascape in Aptos, California. Students will be introduced to a brief history of Psychogeography and experiment with what Psychogeography means to them as we explore the Seascape during our weekly class walks. We will discuss and create art not limited to the creation of imagined maps, architectural models, sculpture from found materials, printmaking, poster design, papermaking, drawing, painting and documentation through sketching, note-taking and writing.
