🤠🐎FAQ:Rodeo at Wind Vineyards🐎🤠🔥
We are almost to SHOW DAY with our friends at BLM Bull and Rodeo Company! Here are some answers to FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Are tickets available at the gate?
🔥ABSOLUTELY! Tickets are cash ONLY at the gate, FYI. You may buy them online if you would like to use a credit card, but you will save processing fees paying cash at the gate if you are waiting until Saturday.
When & where?
🔥May 2 at 854 Dunbrooke Road Tappahannock (the event entrance to Wind Farms) Gates will open at 4pm. Mini bulls and introductions will begin around 6 and the professional riders will be up around 7. The fun will continue until approximately 9 or 930.
When should I arrive?
🔥Your call, but likely EARLIER rather than later! Seating is first come first serve, the place will fill up, AND EXPECT A MAD RUSH TO GET DRINKS AND FOOD JUST BEFORE THE SHOW! Every rodeo we do the wine tent is very busy the hour just prior to starting the event. Come early to beat the lines!
We can’t I bring?
🔥For this event, we do not allow outside food, drinks, or cups.
Can I bring my pet?
🔥There are NO PETS at our big events for the safety and enjoyment of everyone. Pets are welcome to stay in your car or camper at your discretion. True service animals that behave as such and do not cause an issue are welcome, but this does NOT include emotional support animals.
How do I sign my child up for mutton busting?
🔥Kids must be 60 pounds or less and you can register onsite—first come, first serve. Do this early because it will almost certainly fill quickly!
Can I bring chairs?
🔥Yes! We do have some areas planned for chairs to be used but we also have a good amount of bleachers that will hold most of the crowd. We will have chairs available for rent if you do not want to carry your chairs with you. All seating and spots are first come first serve!
What are the seating options?
🔥Bleacher, bring a chair, or rent a chair! Your choice!
What drinks are available?
🔥 Wine, slushies, sangria, Bold Rock, and 🍺BEER🍺 will be available for this event! While we have tried to plan appropriately for beer, there is a finite amount, unlike wine, where we have a virtually bottomless pit. If you want beer, grab is early to be sure we do not sell out!
Can I bring a canopy/tent/umbrella?
🔥Yes, BUT they must be set up in the rear behind others. No obstructive structures on the front rows. If your tent or umbrella blocks anyone it will need to be taken down.
Is this like the other rodeos I see advertised?
🔥NO! Unlike many other events, this rodeo is a true, SEBRA Bull Riding and Barrel Racing sanctioned event with high level professional riders from across the country! We invest a lot of money into providing the BEST rodeo available! This is not amateur folks putting on a show riding a cow. This is the “Major Leagues” of rodeo!
What is the cost to ride Grape Crusher Monster Ride Truck?
🔥Grape Crusher is always one of our most popular attractions at all events! Rides are $15 cash or $17 with a card. Purchase your tickets at the Wind Vineyards merchandise and wine tents.
Do I need to bring cash?
🔥If possible, YES! We do accept cards and believe most all third party vendors so as well. HOWEVER, if lines start to form we will have a “cash only” line that will provide faster service and get you back to the show quickly! Cash transactions are markedly faster than credit cards so keep lines moving.
What events are included?
🔥 Our rodeos include mini bulls, barrel racing, mutton busting, and professional bull riding! We choose to focus on the heart and soul of a rodeo and what most folks are there to see—professional bull riding! We provide as much or more professional bull riding than any other event we are aware of in the state!
“Why aren’t you answering the phone?”
🔥We do our absolute very best to answer every phone call and even return all missed calls we have. However, especially within 24 hours of our big events the number of calls, emails, texts, messages, etc we get is astronomical! Putting questions in the comments is likely your easiest way to get answers. We do ask that you READ OUR POSTS as they include most answers. We will likely do a live video Saturday to show the venue, traffic flow, set up, etc.
Could I get hurt? Who is responsible?
🔥 This is a VIRGINIA AGRITOURISM EVENT held on a working farm with machinery and animals. While every effort has been made to keep you safe, there absolutely are inherent dangers on a farm at an event of this nature. By coming to our farm and buying a ticket you are accepting responsibility for your own well being.
