Cloud Nine Beauty Lounge and Little Known Art House are teaming up again to bring you another Urbane 115 (that’s the name of our building) pop-up market!! We love collaborating on these events and sharing our spaces with other local artists and small businesses. There will be yummy baked goods from Hope’s Sweet Treats, permanent jewelry by .hausofhecate, hair tinsel, handmade art, and more! Kevin McGillivray will be drawing portraits onsite from 10-11:30am. First come first served! Check out his show in the gallery and chat with him about his work during his reception from 12:30-2pm.

We have a very special pop-up happening at the art house from May 15th-May 30th. May is mental health awareness month and Gabby DeBoer has brought in several of her small watercolor artworks, proceeds of which she will be donating to Prevent Su***de Fox Cities. Read Gabby’s story and stop in to purchase her work.

Personally, I wanted to support what Gabby is doing as this is a subject that hits quite close to home for me. I and people close to me have dealt with depression and suicidal ideation as well as friends and family that are grieving loved ones lost. Art has long been a way for me to deal with my own dark thoughts and emotions so in support of Gabby’s mission I’ll be matching her donation of the sales made here at Little Known.

Popping up this Saturday, May 2nd, will be at the art house during the Derby downtown wine walk from 1-4pm. She’ll be bringing a selection of her beautiful pottery for you to choose from. You do not need a ticket to stop by and see Lindsay or to shop but if you’d like to take part in the wine walk, head on over to the downtown Appleton website to register.

Thank you to everyone that applied for our first group show!! We have such a wonderful lineup and we tried to fit as many artists as we could. The artists entered their interpretations of the prompt “Home” and the submissions did not disappoint!! There will be photography, watercolor, collage, mixed media, oil, acrylic and screen print!!

“Home” a group show, will be starting in May. Mark your calendars for the show opening celebration on Saturday, May 9th from 10am-12pm.

So many hugs, conversation, and music! Our 1 year celebration was such a great time, core memories were created. Thank you so much to everyone that came out to celebrate with us. I’m forever grateful to the artists, supporters, friends and family who help make this place possible. Lots of love to my dad for playing fiddle, Julia for her beautiful artwork and helping greet people at the door, Kristin at Kindred Bakeshop for the amazing treats, and my husband for being there and helping with everything (even while we were having basement flooding issues) I hope we get to be here for many years to come ❤️

Just in!! New art supplies! I’ve been asked over and over if I would be bringing in more art supplies to the art house. Yes!! I’ve finally decided on bringing in sketchbooks, in addition to the watercolor paper we already have, colored pencils, pastels, and refillable watercolor brushes to go with the watercolor books you guys love so much. There are mini sketchbooks and colored pencils for the little artists too!!

New York based and woman owned, the packaging is designed by artists across the globe. Besides the designs being absolutely gorgeous, the brands focus is on sustainability, imagination, child development, using recycled materials, and vegetable based inks.
You have to come check them out!

Join Lacey Fuse for a watercolor workshop here at Little Known. In this 3 hour workshop you will learn foundational watercolor techniques including wet on wet, wet on dry, smooth washes, texture, and color mixing while creating an 8x8 painting of a robin. All supplies and tools will be provided.

Our one year anniversary is coming up fast! We’ll be having a celebration on Saturday, April 4th from 10am-2pm at Little Known Art House. There will be giveaways, drinks, treats from Kindred Bakeshop, a special art collaboration between me and Julia H Studios, even a little known crossword puzzle. I hope you’ll join us in celebrating this milestone ❤️

Call For Art
We are looking to host our first group show here at Little Known!! We thought it would be a great way to celebrate the first show of our second year open. The show will run from May 6th - June 20th.

The theme will be "home". People always ask, "where are you from?" as though where you come from is the place that feels the most like home, for me it isn't, but is the place I grew up. So I've been thinking about the concept of "home" as more than a place but perhaps where you feel belonging or is a feeling you yearn for that feels like home. It could be an actual place, a feeling, a person, or nostalgia from childhood.
