Alligators, tarantulas, snakes, oh my! 🐊 This week, Gatorland Orlando stopped by Camp Thunderbird, giving our camp guests an unforgettable hands-on wildlife experience. Guests had the opportunity to learn about a variety of animals and get up close with them. They even had the opportunity to hold some of the animals! 🕷

Every morning at Camp Thunderbird starts with a cherished tradition: the flag raising ceremony. This year, we are proudly raising our very own camp flag! Camp guests help to raise the flag up and then cabins compete to see who can sing their cabin chant the loudest. The ceremony concludes with a camp song and then it is off to a day full of fun!

Beth is the Cabin Lead, and this will be her 2nd summer at Camp Thunderbird.

What are you looking forward to this summer? Really looking forward to seeing all the guests again, meeting new ones and just having an awesome time.

What is your favorite memory from Camp Thunderbird? I always loved all the evening activities, but the camp dance on the last night will always be my favourite memory, as you see how much the guests have grown that week and how much impact camp really has had on them, and the joy and happiness in that room is indescribable.

What makes Camp Thunderbird special? The guests and staff — the staff are so outgoing and welcoming, and that just reflects onto the guests, and you can see how excited they are to be there.

Describe your "camp personality" in three words: Determined, proud and cheerful.
