Kapela Strada Trio brings the sounds of Italian Musica Popolare to America through lively melodies, dance tunes, and elegant arrangements.

Led by Chicago-born Italian American musician Connor Marks , the trio draws from the regional traditions of Southern Italy as well as the repertoire carried to America by generations of Italian immigrants.

Featuring Neapolitan mandolin, violin, piano accordion, classical guitar, and tamburello, Kapela Strada Trio offers an energetic and authentic celebration of Italian musical heritage.

Just in case Connor looks familiar---he performed last year on our Music Stage with Michela Musolino! We're very excited to welcome Connor back and look forward to seeing his trio perform!

Welcome back to La Cucina to Chef . She will be the emcee of the Culinary Stage and also do a demo herself at 5:30 PM Sat, September 19, of Apex Government Campus.

Carmella Alvaro is the owner and pasta maker of Melina's Fresh Pasta in Durham, North Carolina and Il Laboratorio - The Cooking Lab in Durham, NC. As a first-generation Italian-American, born to Calabrese parents, she has successfully bridged her family’s heritage with the North Carolina culinary scene. Melina’s Fresh Pasta focused on fresh pasta, ravioli, gnocchi, sauces, baked pasta meals and more.

Carmella traveled to Bologna, Italy in 2010 to learn how to make authentic Italian fresh pasta and founded Melina’s Fresh Pasta upon her return to NC.

Award-Winning Recipe: Won the prestigious Our State Magazine Made in NC Award in 2021 for her signature pimento cheese ravioli, which blends Southern food culture with classic Italian technique.

Founded Il Laboratorio in early 2024, a dedicated, hands-on pasta making school focused on regional Italian cooking.

Carmella wrote and published two fresh pasta cookbooks, Authentic Homemade Pasta and Homemade Ravioli Made Simple.

TODAY! This beautiful wreath is one of the items you can win at SerafinaRistorante from the raffle for A Taste of Hope: A Fundraiser for ALS United North Carolina . This very special wreath was made by Mary Miskimon , friend of the Giannuzzi Family. Some of the dried flowers used to design this wreath were taken from those at Lisa Giannuzzi's funeral.

This fundraiser today is dedicated to the memory of Lisa who bravely battled this horrible disease. Lisa was a Bronze Sponsor of Festa Italiana North Carolina and the daughter of two of our founders, Fran and Bob Giannuzzi.
