Congratulations Rachel Consolazio () and the Apalachin Public Library on your Community Arts Grant via the Arts Council of the Southern Finger Lakes ()!
⭐️
With the support of this award, Consolazio will introduce community members to the traditional craft of ceramic hand building through workshops inspired by her own artistic practice. This project will allow her to increase the number of participants in her teaching artist workshops by introducing a new method of making with clay. Congratulations VINES () and Kari Varner () on your Arts in the Community Grant via the Earlville Opera House () FY2025!
⭐️
With the support of this award in the Summer and Fall VINES will host five nature focused art workshops led by Binghamton-based artist, Kari Varner. Community will engage in art making using plants as materials. Techniques include cyanotype, paper-making, watercolor with handmade pigments and film development with plants. This project encourages artistic exploration, skill building, and opens a dialogue about arts relationship to sustainability and agriculture.
⭐️
Consolazio first got involved with Artist Grant Navigation through our workshop series and utilized office hours for feedback and an editing on her grant (although she really didn’t need it and hit out of the park on the draft she shared)
⭐️
Many congratulations, to you both!

Support Tioga Arts Council this giving season! They’re an incredible partner to Artist Grant Navigation and an amazing resource to artists in and around Tioga County 💙

💛🧡💙5 Days of Giving to Raise $5,000. I Reason #3 For Giving: Artist Grant Navigation 💛🧡💙
Several years ago, Anna Warfield Art approached TAC with a partnership proposal. Warfield identified a significant professional gap for artists. While there were grant opportunities to support creative work and community art projects, many artists do not have the knowledge needed to navigate the granting ecosystem—with its specific terminology, rules, and application requirements. Significant funds — some as much as $10,000 per artist — are available, but "left on the table" annually.
.
Warfield proposed a program that she would craft and implement: Artist Grant Navigation. However, to build the program, she needed a project partner to help get it started. She asked TAC to serve as a fiscal sponsor to the Community Foundation of South Central New York (CFSCNY). CFSCNY was deeply impressed by the thoughtfulness of the proposal and its potential for impact. With this first award, Artist Grant Navigation — a free program to foster a healthier relationship to and understanding of the world of grants as an artist — launched in May 2024.
.
💛🧡💙THE RESULTS TO DATE 💛🧡💙
Sometimes the role of TAC is to recognize and support an artist with a strong vision that advances its mission in the community. Working with Warfieldembodies TAC's role as an avenue of support to bring an idea to life. Since May 2024, Warfield and her Artist Grant Navigation program has supported artists grants that resulted in $80,350 in award funds to artists in Broome and Tioga Counties (so far!). Warfield has also provided many hours of direct support, networking opportunities, and more.
.
Bravo and thank you, Anna Warfield!
