Hi everybody,
We have been really absent minded in responding to some messages and you may have noticed a slowdown in our releases.
First, we want to say that last year was amazing. We released 25 sessions by 25 different artists / bands and we’re so proud of every single one of them. We made some great friends and had the opportunity to listen to great music that was undiscovered to us until the session was scheduled.
Going into 2018 we decided to take a little break in December & January. To those who have sent us messages / emails, if we haven’t responded - we apologize. It takes a lot of work coordinating these things and takes a lot of time to make everything happen. We all have a combination of day jobs, side gigs, creative endeavors and significant others. After all is said and done we have very little time for mental health days and personal time to just kick it. We get new messages and emails almost daily and while we want to record everyone, it is not feasible or sustainable for us to do so. Just one session takes a crew of six, hours of set up / tear down, hours of shooting / recording, hours of mixing audio, hours of editing video, days of correspondence for scheduling shoot date / release date, and keeping the stoke high takes quite a bit of time. This coupled with a lack of promotional support and all the stuff we do on the side has made us reassess where we stand a little more clearly and prioritize our time more effectively for our own sanity’s sake.
Above negativity aside—we LOVE doing these sessions and we want to make it clear that we are NOT throwing in the towel, just continuing to give ourselves a little bit of breathing room.
Moving into 2018, we’ll continue to release the rest of the sessions that we recorded last year, and we’ll keep recording new sessions. However, due to reasons stated above, we still may not be able to get back to everyone. We love it when artists express interest and contact us for a session. It lets us know that a) what we offer is great, and b) introduces us to music we may not have heard otherwise. However, we can’t respond to everyone who contacts us and we don’t mean any offense! If you send us a message know that we definitely will read your message and reply as soon as we can—it just may take us a little while.
We’re stoked for the opportunity we’ve had to work with so many awesome bands / artists and are forever grateful to those of you who have watched our videos. We’re appreciative for all of the support we’ve been given in the last two years. You guys mean the world to us. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
But even without viewers, our crew has been given the opportunity to listen to new music intimately in our basement with a bunch of really cool people. It’s truly an amazing experience for us, regardless if anyone is watching or not. We can’t wait to get back in the basement very soon!
