Full Rigid Heddle class in the shop today! Lots of new rigid heddle weavers!

We are weaving up some mug rugs (coasters) on SchachtSpindleCompany Cricket looms using Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok yarn.

I love the simplicity of these looms and they are so easy for learning how to weave.

Today in the shop, I'm playing with a drum carder while I still have it!

I enjoy blending fibers and various mix ins to create some great blended batts for spinning. A friend loaned her drum carder to me a couple years ago and it's soon on it's way back to her.

The batts I make up in the shop over the next few days will be available for sale in my shop and online next week.

What color combinations would you make?

This yarn is used for our Weave a Wall Hanging class and we luckily acquired a whole bunch of new yarns and have so much to choose from during your class!

Featured Friday!

Krokbragd weaving and Tuna wool yarn!

Yesterday at the shop, I spent most of the day working on this krokbragd sampler piece. The inspiration to learn this weave structure came from a call from a friend who also wanted to learn. She came into the shop and we were learning together.

I have fallen in love with this weave structure!

Luckily, I just got a bunch of Tuna wool yarns in yesterday, so I wound some smaller balls from the hanks and went to town learning how to weave this wonderful structure.

I'll be spending most of today working on it again.

People have mentioned that Tuna yarns would be great for tapestry and krokbragd weaving, but they didn't want to buy a whole hank of each color. Smaller balls of these yarns will be available in shop and online soon!
