Take Action Now to Protect Local Charities in City of Anoka
The City of Anoka is considering a change to its charitable gambling code that would force local non-profit organizations to pay mandatory fees to the City, allowing those charitable dollars to be redistributed as the City sees fit.
Letβs be clear:
This would take money away from local charities and away from the missions they were raised to support.
Charitable gambling funds support youth sports, community programs, public safety initiatives, veteran services and programs, and many other local causes β not so the City can redistribute funds to programs they see fit or to programs that charitable organizations already support.
If this change moves forward, many non-profits will lose critical funding and the ability to give back directly to the Anoka community.
