Woolstok Light and Prairie held together create a plush plush fabric with depth of color thanks to the different ways the various fibers accept the dyes; wool and two types of alpaca to be exact. Notes for early September events at Spun! This Sunday, 2~4pm, there will be Spin In Drop In! We host a social spinning circle on the first Sunday of each month. Bring your wheel/spindle and fiber (or pick some up at Spun!) to join the group for a couple of very pleasant hours. And speaking of very pleasant hours, we also host a craft circle on each Sunday from 1~3pm (and evenings 4~6pm, Mondays through Thursdays). Maybe you’d care to join us for that too!

Then next weekend, Sept. 12 & 13, join us in welcoming Erin Baker of Beagle & Badger! Erin will bring a pop-up shop of her beautiful, hand-dyed yarns!

Erin’s colorways tell wonderful stories that we can then craft into stories of our own. We hope you will join us to welcome Erin!

Something for the kids! Here’s a tour of the sample children’s garments & accessories at Spun! Perhaps they’ll inspire your next project. Pint-sized projects like these are a great way to practice techniques to see how you fare with something new (cabling without a cable needle?), whether you enjoy a certain technique (magic loop?), and also a fun way to “test drive” a new-to-you yarn.

A beautiful new addition to Spun Ann Arbor shop samples is the Dark Moon Wrap by Rachel Illsley of Unwind Knitwear ~ this one-size design combines sections of texture with mosaic color-work creating a beautiful wrap with plenty of drape.

Knit with Emma's Yarn Practically Perfect Sock: a 2-ply blend of super wash Merino and nylon, perfectly stretchy, sturdy and suitable for socks but also for other garments and accessories such as this lovely wrap!
