A beautiful addition to our shelves! 🎼
We are thrilled to announce a wonderful new gift from distinguished composer Scott Wheeler. Scott recently sent us six of his music scores, which you can see displayed on our reading table!

This generous gift adds to the dozens of his scores and recordings already in our archive from his previous donation. It was such a joy to host Scott at our center in Prato, Italy just this past April 28, and this gift beautifully continues that connection.

These new pieces are now preparing for their autumn-winter voyage across the Atlantic, to reunite with our main library in Prato, Italy.

Thank you, Scott, for your ongoing generosity!

The unpacking is done, the real work begins! 💿✨

New season and new beginnings at the ICAMus Studio in Ann Arbor. Aloma Bardi is preparing for a vital transatlantic archival transfer of a major accrual to the ICAMus Collection. She is now inventorying and cataloguing hundreds of CDs—a spectacular major donation to our archives from New World Records, a leading recording label in American music.

These contemporary American music treasures will soon travel to their permanent home at the American Music Center in Prato, Italy.

Every single CD tells a story, and together, they represent a vital international bridge for contemporary American composers. May this wonderful gesture inspire more donations to help our collection grow! 🌟

Special thanks to composer Scott Wheeler, who first envisioned this beautiful connection with New World Records.

📦 An extraordinary gift for music history! 🇺🇸✨
We are thrilled to share some wonderful news. ICAMus has received a magnificent, generous donation from New World Records: hundreds of CDs documenting contemporary American composers, immensely enriching our archival collections.

ICAMus Director, Aloma Bardi, has just opened the first of two large boxes at The ICAMus Studio in Ann Arbor. This fall, all of these incredible materials will travel to their permanent home at the American Music Center in Prato, Italy.

A special, heartfelt thank you goes to composer Scott Wheeler. A dear friend of ICAMus who has previously donated his own works and visited us in Prato, Scott was the driving force behind this invaluable connection with New World Records.

It was a truly emotional moment, captured here as Aloma dives into this treasure trove of American music. 🎶

We are delighted that Dr. Serena Scibelli (GSU-Georgia State University, Atlanta) traveled all the way from Georgia to visit us at the American Music Center in Prato!

Serena is a violinist, teacher, and researcher. We have been thrilled to meet her and start a collaborative program centered on:

✨ Honoring through Culture & Harmony ✨

As the United States marks its 250th anniversary, ICAMus celebrates with a vision of renewal and profound cultural connection.

We are thrilled to unveil a first look at our beautifully revitalized space at the American Music Center in Prato, where newly installed shelves stand ready. They await a major, incoming collection of historic books, rare music scores, and landmark recordings traveling from the United States this winter.

This expansion is more than a physical renovation. It is a reaffirmation of our mission to bridge continents. As we step into this vibrant new chapter, may our shared journey continue to cultivate deep scholarship, artistic beauty, and enduring values.
