The combined general auditions previously scheduled for April 24th and 26th have been cancelled, and theatres will be holding their own auditions for this year.

We want to thank all those who came forward to voice concerns, and the theaters who came together to discuss them. These concerns are valid and the feedback is extremely valuable. Although we've found these types of auditions helpful for identifying new talent, we appreciate actors' time and significant effort in preparing for them, and we want to make sure they have the information they need to feel comfortable in auditioning for us. To take a small step towards offering some clarity, we would like to note that our 2026 season has largely been cast, with our last callback set to occur next week.Moving forward, we will be discussing ways to provide opportunities for more open conversation. Thanks to all for coming together to discuss and adjust these plans. We look forward to future chances to work with you all.

Chloe Rochefort is a recent graduate of the University of the Arts, where she earned her BFA in Musical Theater. This is her first production with The Penny Seats, and she couldn’t be more thrilled to be part of this show. Previous Credits include Hope Cladwell in Urinetown: The Musical and Woman with Furs in Marisol. She will be playing C-The Zoogoers, Rhiannon, Evelyn, Dre, Gloria in our production of Precious Little by Madeleine George, performing April 10-25 at Cahoots Co-working Space in Downtown Ann Arbor.

Sylvia “Shelby” Bradley (A-The Ape, Dorothy, Cleva, The Baby) is thrilled to perform with this talented cast, director and supporting crew. Shelby’s recent stage performances include Eclipsed as Dora (Broadway World Award Winner - Best Ensemble), and Dr. Moloch as Serena (Encore Michigan Wilde Award Winner -Best Drama Play), both at Theatre Nova; The Sisters Grey (Sandra) - The Obsidian Theatre Festival; The House That Will Not Stand (Beartrice) - The Plowshares Theatre; Raisin in the

Sun (Mama/Lena) - Birmingham Village Players Theatre; and Duck Hunter Shoots Angel (Lennie) by Mitch Albom - A Wilde Theatre. Shelby has also performed in commercials, independent films and TV programming (including Chicago Med).

MEET THE CAST

Vicki is delighted to be back on the Penny Seats stage! She was last seen as the Captain & a Polish Maiden in Fortinbras in 2019. Vicki is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University's Theatre Arts program and has worked with other local professional companies including Shakespeare in Detroit, Shakespeare Royal Oak, and Open Book Theatre Company. In 2009, she was fortunate to be able to participate in University of Detroit Mercy's Classical Theatre Study Abroad Program in Greece where she toured in a production of The Bacchae. Favorite roles include Ophelia in Hamlet, Maria in Twelfth Night, and Toinette in Imaginary Invalid.
