MEET THE 2026 STREET ART ENCOUNTER ARTISTS!

We’re getting closer to the second annual Street Art Encounter, and we’re excited to introduce the talented artists who will be taking over downtown Ann Arbor on Friday, September 11!

This year’s lineup includes a mix of returning and new artists, with artists creating their designs using spray paint, acrylic paint, or a combination of techniques. Each artist will have just 8 hours to bring their design to life—so you’ll want to stop by throughout the day to watch the artwork evolve from a blank canvas into a finished piece!

What an exciting day exploring Ann Arbor with Darley Newman and Destination Ann Arbor! We spent the day walking, talking, tasting, and discovering some of the incredible places and people that make our city so unique and special.

☕ First stop: RoosRoast Coffee for a cup of the smooth and decadent Lobster Butter Love coffee. We admired the artwork by John Roos himself and met the amazing team that keeps Ann Arbor caffeinated.

📚 From there, we made our way to Literati Bookstore, passing the iconic green wall along the way. We were thrilled to find Darley’s book on the shelf — and, of course, leave a little message for the next visitors who stop by.

👕 Next up was Ferne Boutique where we checked out the fabulous collegiate apparel and talked about what it takes to own and operate a retail storefront in today’s market.

🧘‍♀️ Then it was off to Himalayan Bazaar, where we had a little fun testing out the vibrating meditation bowls before heading to lunch at Little Kim.

And this is just a sliver of the incredible restaurants, shops, artists, entrepreneurs, and local personalities that make Ann Arbor such a special place.

We’re so excited to share a little piece of our city with Darley!
