✨NEW PRODUCT ALERT✨

I’ve been super excited to start designing some products other than prints, and here is the first of many - an earth day tote (swipe right to see design)

This tote is a perfect celebration of the planet as it is 100% certified organic cotton & can be used in place of single use shopping bags! It’s super roomy (16”x14”x5”) and can hold up to 30 lbs!

In an effort to produce only what is needed, I will be doing a preorder of these totes to ensure nothing goes to waste! To snag one of these earthy goody bags, DM me and I will explain the process further. You will be able to preorder these totes until April 22, 2021 and I will place the order on Earth Day!

Tote price: $28 plus shipping (or free local pickup or drop off in the Ann Arbor area)

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to - an urban Indigenous, woman-led land trust that facilitates the return or Indigenous land to Indigenous people

Side note: Earth day should be everyday, not just one day a year. Use that day to reflect on how you care for our Mother and how we can unite to better care for people & the planet

Outdoor spaces should be inclusive and safe spaces for all, but currently, they aren’t.  Outdoor recreation has traditionally served only white communities, especially white male communities, excluding folx of different races, sexual orientations, and even gender.  While progress has been made, there is still a long way to go in making these spaces feel welcoming for so many groups of people.

Settler-colonial systems, systemic racism, and gaps in wealth and education are all factors into why this divide in the outdoors exist.  Another major factor is a lack of representation in outdoor spaces.  As someone that has spent their life recreating outside, pursuing an environmental field, and even working at an outdoor gear store, it saddens me to say that there is rarely representation of diversity in these spaces.

However, there has been lots of progress in recent years to diversify the outdoors, making them inclusive spaces for all.  There are several wonderful athletes, “recreationists”, organizations, nonprofits, and companies that are all working to dismantle the systems that have oppressed people from being included in the outdoor sphere for so long. Some of these amazing organizations include:

As always, SEAM Art Co. donates a portion of its profits to those putting in the work better people and the planet.   is the nation’s first Black-owned gear store, and they will be the recipient of this piece’s donations.  Their passion for outdoor recreation and caring for their customers is evident as they simultaneously stand for diversity and inclusivity in the outdoors.  Like many small businesses, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted this business, and they are in need of financial support during these tough times.  20% of all proceeds will go towards their GoFundMe (link also in my bio).  Once they meet their fundraising goals, I will also distribute funds to some of the incredible organizations listed above.

Thanks for supporting the diversification and inclusion of outdoor spaces!

I’ve got some exciting things to share with you all in the upcoming week ✨✨

Something I’m particularly excited about is sharing some of the pieces I have been working on for the coral collection! I have been playing around with these illustrations for a while, and am super stoked to share my love of the ocean through art!! One of the main goals of .art.collective is to educate and inspire conservation efforts through visual media, and art is an incredibly powerful tool for doing so!

This illustration is of brain coral - one of my favorite corals for its unique shape and intricate details! One of my favorite aspects about coral is that it looks like art already! Reef ecosystems are colorful, diverse, and feel like a wonderland as you dive through them. They are home to 25% of all known marine organisms, but only make up about 1% of the ocean. Protecting coral means protecting the health of the entire ocean!

Stay tuned for more coral art coming your way, and information about coral and how to better protect it in the coming weeks!!

I hope this upcoming year brings peace and joy to everyone’s lives, and silver linings from this past year will present themselves. Good things are coming folks!

Tis the season to get in the holiday spirit while also making sure you take care of the planet! The holidays can often be a time of gluttony, overconsumption (I’m guilty of this), and waste. While it’s impossible to perfect, here are some tips to try and make your holiday a bit more eco-friendly! Have fun with it — get crafty, cook a lot, and share your love with people through actions and homemade goodies.

Here’s another sneak preview of my shop update coming this Monday, 11/23!!

This piece and collection of prints (and hopefully soon some stickers and totes) is inspired by threatened and endangered cetaceans (whales, dolphins & porpoises). I have been so fortunate with my time on this earth to have seen these animals in the wild, and do the research and education to aid in their conservation efforts. I want to give back to the cause in yet another way, and donate a portion of all proceeds from this collection to marine conservation nonprofits aiding in the research and protection of these dwindling populations.

This specific print is inspired by the blue whale, the largest animal in the world.  This species initially declined when whaling was prominent, and they continue to face challenges today.  Some of their greatest threats include a changing climate, entanglement in fishing gear, vessel strikes, and ocean noise from increasing vessel traffic, similar threats to those of other endangered whale species.

There are several ways to help this species survive and grow, and you can be part of the change!!

1) use when purchasing fish, shellfish, etc. to ensure sustainable methods of fishing that don’t contribute to ocean pollution or bycatch!

2) report sightings of whales and keep a distance of at least 100 meters from these animals (additionally you can report those violating the law, marine life in stress, and boats speeding closely to whales)

3) continue to educate yourself and spread this information, the more people that know, the more people can fight to make a change!!!

4) make small changes in your personal life that can have a huge impact on the planet!!! you can lower your carbon footprint by reducing meat consumption, buying local, walking or biking instead of driving, installing solar panels, etc

This specific print is inspired by the North Atlantic right whale, one of the most endangered large whale species in the world.  This species first declined when whaling was prominent, and was hunted to near extinction.  Now their biggest threats are a changing climate, entanglement in fishing gear, vessel strikes, and ocean noise from increasing vessel traffic.  As of now, deaths outnumber births, and there are fewer than 100 breeding females left.

There are several ways to help this species survive and grow, and you can be part of the change!!

1) minimize your seafood consumption and use when purchasing fish, shellfish, etc.

2) report sightings of whales and marine life to - this information gives incredibly useful insight to scientists about whale behaviors, locations, and their interactions with vessels

3) continue to educate yourself and spread this information, the more people that know, the more people can fight to make a change!!!

Now, more than ever, IT IS CRUCIAL TO VOTE! We must care for our communities, our people, our planet. We must not discriminate. We must not give our votes to people who will only benefit the rich or the privileged, but vote for those that stand up for BIPOC communities, the planet, equality and fair access to health care, education and resources. All too often, we have seen presidents in this country uplift privileged white folx, and it needs to stop here. There needs to be a revolution, an upheaval of what is considered to be the “norm” of our nation. I challenge everyone that follows this platform to register to vote, know your rights, know your candidates, and fight the good fight. We have power. We have control. And we have a say in the futures of not only ourselves, but this entire nation. America is for everyone.
