I’m so excited that I can finally share this beautiful painting now that it has been gifted!

I had to keep this one a secret for a little while, and that wasn’t easy! 😂 I absolutely loved creating all of the little details—the cowboy boots and hat, the flowers, and of course that glass of wine.

There’s something so special about creating a painting specifically for someone, knowing it will eventually hang in their home and hopefully bring them joy for years to come.

This one was definitely a labor of love, and I’m so happy I can finally show you! ❤️

A Little Art Therapy 🎨❤️

This weekend I finally got to spend a little time creating again. Since surgery, I still have limited use of my arms, so tackling one of my normal-sized paintings isn’t quite in the cards yet.

But these tiny canvases? Just my size right now. 😊

I painted a collection of miniature artwork for my great-nieces’ dollhouses, and I had so much fun with them! Tiny flowers, pumpkins, cats, a little piggy, Christmas scenes, landscapes… even teeny-tiny paintings in ornate gold frames. 🥹

It felt so good to pick up a paintbrush again. Creating has always been a kind of therapy for me, and after everything my body has been through, having that little piece of normal back meant more than I expected.

I may not be ready for the big canvases quite yet, but apparently my recovery era includes becoming a very tiny artist. 😂🎨

And honestly, I’m okay with that. One little painting at a time. ❤️

Some paintings become more than just paint on a canvas—they become a reflection of your heart.

As I worked on this boat sitting alone in the middle of the water, I couldn’t help but relate to it. Lately, life has felt a lot like this… stranded in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by uncertainty, wondering what comes next.

The sky in this painting isn’t the storm itself. It’s the calm before the storm. Sometimes I think that’s where I’ve been living—waiting, hoping, praying, and trying to find peace before the next wave hits.

Cancer has brought more storms into my life than I ever imagined, but it has also taught me something. Even when the waters feel deep and the horizon is unclear, God has never left me drifting alone. He has surrounded me with prayers, encouragement, and people who keep reminding me to hold on.

So today, this little boat reminds me that while I may feel weathered and anchored in difficult circumstances, I’m still floating. I’m still here. And I trust that eventually the storm will pass, the skies will clear, and I’ll see the beauty on the other side.

Thank you to everyone who continues to pray for me, encourage me, and walk this journey with me. You help me keep my eyes on the horizon. ❤️

🇺🇸❤️ Happy 4th of July from Recca’s Woodland Studio! ❤️🇺🇸

What a wonderful evening celebrating America’s 250th birthday with an amazing group of ladies! We had so much fun painting this patriotic eagle, and I loved seeing everyone’s creativity shine. Even though everyone started with the same design, each painting took on its own unique personality—and they all turned out fantastic!

I only managed to get close-up photos of a couple of the finished pieces, but trust me, every single one was something to be proud of. Thank you to everyone who came out, laughed, painted, and made it such a memorable night.

I feel incredibly blessed to be able to share creativity with such wonderful people. ❤️🎨

💜 A little life update… and a little studio update! 🎨

As many of you know, this cancer journey has had its share of ups and downs. Lately I’ve been feeling pretty tired and weaker than usual, but I’m incredibly thankful that I only have two chemo treatments left! 🙌 After that, I’ll continue with weekly immunotherapy, and I’m grateful to be one step closer to putting this part of treatment behind me.

On the days I’m feeling up to it, I’ve been pouring my heart into something that brings me so much joy—building the portfolio for Recca’s Woodland Studio! ❤️

I’ve been creating sample paintings for future paint kits and, God willing, in-person paint parties once I’m strong enough to get those going again. Every brushstroke reminds me that even during difficult seasons, beautiful things can still grow.
