Sometimes God will present oppurtunities to us that we don’t think that we are ready for. He will put things in front of us that He actually wants us to do scared. He has presented me with oppurtunities lately that have pushed my boundaries of comfort…and I have prayed that He would take the fear away as I take the step forward into what He has asked me to do. And I tell you what…lately when I pray that, He has been telling me no. He has been telling me that I am going to have to do it scared…BECAUSE THAT REQUIRES FAITH. Each time, I have accepted the challenge and He has been faithful to reveal Himself in the midst of every one of those circumstances. The more I push into fear rather than stopping short…the more I grow into a woman that He can truly use. How amazing that He is teaching me how to completely trust Him. ❤️

If God is telling you to do it…DO IT. Start the business…write the book…paint the picture…or have the hard conversation. Do it scared…do it unprepared…and let Him show up like He always does. It is those situations where we truly get to give Him all of the glory…because we know that we never could have done it without Him. ❤️

So often we only go off of what we can see right in front of us . We often times look at our tough circumstances and we write them off as limiting, as something intended to break us down and take us out. We look at them as an obstacle rather than an oppurtunity. But what if He is positioning you through them? What if He is growing you through them? What if He is allowing those circumstances to move you forward into your calling or elevate you to another level?

It’s time for a perspective shift. It’s time to remember how mighty He is and how faithful He is to take our brokenness and turn it to beauty. It’s time to lead with your faith and not with your fears.

He sees it all even if you don’t. Stop fighting it and let Him lift you onto higher ground. Let Him become your foundation and let Him grow you through this season. With Him…you cannot lose. ❤️

Rejection. It’s a word that has come to me over and over every time I have prayed about what God wanted me to post today. The Bible says in three of the four gospels that the sky went dark as Jesus hung up on the cross…as if the sun somehow knew that the true light of the world was being rejected. The things that Jesus endured physically in crucifuxion were beyond comprehension, but how often do we really think about the things that He had to endure emotionally in order to die for us? He was sent down to us as human…and for that reason we have to assume that he felt all of the same things that we feel in this world also. He felt rejection, He felt persecution, He felt judged, and He felt cast out. All things that I’m sure most of us can relate to in one way or another. And He felt them to a degree that we can’t even fathom. But here is the thing…He did it anyway. He hung up on that cross for each and every one of us. He thought of us personally…He knew the mistakes we would make…and that this world would still reject Him even to this day…and He loved us enough to do it anyway. He paid the ultimate price so that we might have the chance to be reconciled to God and so that we could someday be truly free. We know today as Good Friday…and for us it IS good. Because He sacrifically paid our debt. That is my King. And that is who I will follow for the rest of my days.

So many of us find ourselves dissatisfied on days like today. Whether you are coupled up or single…it can be a day where our expectations far exceed what we actually get on Valentine’s Day. Believe me, I am a romantic at heart, and I do love to show those around me how important they are to me on this day. But I would also challenge you to remember who loved you first. The kind of love that God showed us by sending Jesus is beyond measure. The kind of love that Jesus showed us by dying for us on that cross can not be matched by anything we can get in this world. God wanted to be close to us…He wanted to crush the chasm that was created by sin…and He did that in the most sacrificial way He possibly could. That is true love.

If your heart is feeling unfullfilled on this day…if you are feeling any discouragement…then get your eyes on Jesus. He is proof that you are so so loved…this day and every day. ❤️

Who are you paying attention to in the middle of the tough stuff? Who and what are you focused on when things get hard? Are you focused on the waves or are you focused on the One who commands them?

We are all fighting our own battles…it is a part of life to go through seasons of hardship. But who you are focused on is what will determine how you handle whatever you are going through. It is what will determine how you come out on the other side.

God is in it. I promise you that. Even if He feels silent…He has not abandoned you. In fact, He is closer than ever…and He loves you so much that He wants to grow you through it. He is not a distant God, but one that is in the battle with you. He is molding you into who He designed you to be…even through this. Knowing that, we can embrace the hard stuff instead of wearing ourselves out fighting it.

You can find peace in that today. That no matter what is going on around you, you are loved by a God who is fully capable to bring you through it. He is in charge…He is working on you…and His ways are perfect.

There is something that alot of people don’t know about me. A lot of people don’t know that in 2017 I started writing a book. A lot of people don’t know that I started writing another one about a year ago. And no one knows that, because as of today, they remain unpublished. God has been the leading force behind both of these book ideas. I have no doubt. He has lovingly pushed me and given me the words for every page. Yet the world hasn’t seen either one. I have even published other people’s books…but not my own. I have fought fear, self sabotage, and self doubt the entire way. And until recently I fought a losing battle against one of the enemy’s most deceiving schemes…DISTRACTION. The problem for him, is that the entire time that he thought he was holding me back from my purpose…God was using those things to grow me into who He needed me to be. He was taking the very tools that the devil thought he had me with…and He was building me into a warrior. God was giving me exactly what I needed to be able to help other people out of the same struggle and lead them to Him. He was building my story…so that I could share His.

The enemy wants you distracted. He wants you ineffective. He wants you focused on the chaos and the pain instead of on your purpose. And I am telling you right now that with God as your Captain…you have the ability to tell the enemy to sit down. You have the ability to choose focus over distraction. You have the ability to choose the path forward rather than to stay where you are.

God is leading me to amazing places…and it all started with truly trusting Him and acknowledging Him in all that I do. Asking Him first…always. It started with recognizing the distractions and saying no to them.

So I challenge you to do the same. Whatever God has asked you to do that life has been getting in the way of…pick it up again…today…and let God lead you forward.

God is the one who qualifies you. No one else. Not your opinion of yourself, not other peoples opinions of you…only Him. I have been told over and over again that I am not ‘good enough’. I have been told I’m not ‘ready’…or that my life doesn’t ‘look good enough’ on the outside to do what God has called me to do. I have told myself these things, and I have listened when other people have said them. But no more. God is my qualifier and His opinion is the only one that matters. I am qualified and I am ready to do what He has called me to do for His kingdom because HE HAS ASKED ME TO. Because He has presented me with the opportunities that He has. Not because I ‘feel ready’ or ‘look ready’…but because He says I am ready with what He is asking me to steward.

It is a New Year…and this year, it is so important that we all use the gifts that He has given us. The world is dark…things are hard…but you have a unique light that He has given you that He wants you to share with the world. You have a unique story that He wants you to share that will point others to Him. This is a year to be bold…to dream Big God sized dreams…to be obedient even when it’s scary…and to show up anyway when He calls you to…whether you feel like it or not. It is a year to have Big faith and to finally step into those dreams that He has put in your imagination. Don’t listen to other people’s opinions when they shoot you down…don’t listen to that inner voice that says you can’t…only listen to Him and let Him lead you. He knows better…He wants better for you…and He will be faithful to lead you there if you let Him. ❤️

An amazing thing happens when God chooses to grow you through a season of hardship. In the last couple of years, I have had some major losses. And just this last week, I sifted through what was left of my belongings…things I had stored on the side of my home because I had no where else to put them while I am in this season of transition…only to find that everything was a total loss. Water damage took it all…every box…every single thing that was in them…it all went into a dumpster. I cried. I shook my head. I went through every single emotion. Then I went to my church to help serve the community Thanksgiving dinner. And guess what? I was grateful for it. I was grateful for the oppurtunity to serve others that night rather than wallow in all the ‘poor me’ that came with my current circumstances. And through that experience God taught me one very important thing. And that is the fact that He is changing me through all of this. The things that I am thankful for today don’t even resemble the things I used to be thankful for. And I am so glad. You see, He has stripped me of literally everything…and I am grateful. I am grateful that the one and only God of the universe cares to grow me. I am grateful that He has gotten all of the muck out of the way so that I can truly see the way He has blessed me, the way He is positioning me, and how eternally capable He is of restoring it all.

No matter where you are…you can be thankful because YOU ARE HIS. ❤️

So often we define ourselves by the struggle. We define ourselves by our failures, we define ourselves by our lack of perfection or our shortcomings. And so often we believe that God can’t use us if we aren’t in the perfect place with all of our ducks in a row. But my friend, that is a lie. Because God doesn’t seek perfection. Only He is perfect. Instead, He seeks a willing heart. He seeks a transparent heart. And He seeks a heart that listens to Him and Him alone. Don’t wait for yourself to be perfect…because you will never get there. Let Him use you today…right where you are. Let Him grow you today…right where you are. Let Him love you today…right where you are. Don’t limit Him and the ways that He can use by your ideas of what it should look like. Just have faith that He knows it all, and that if He has called you to it, then you are ready.

He is in control and He is capable.

With Him as your captain…the sky is the limit. ❤️
