Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee The Jumping Frog Jubilee is held the 3rd full weekend every May. Frogtown.org Its earliest roots date back to 1893, held that year in Copperopolis.

The Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee is one of the longest running events in the State of California. The fair eventually found a permanent home outside of Angels Camp. In the spirit of the old movie classic "State Fair," the Calaveras County Fair is a blend of entertainment, exhibits, livestock, arena events, great food and our signature event, the International Frog Jump. of Americana will have you Leaping to return year after year. Today, few events illustrate the gold rush era, as well as the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee. Every May the entire community celebrates its history and its future. The tradition of county residents showing off their best still holds true today. The Calaveras County Fair has as many as 7000 exhibits. The junior livestock auction generated over $350,000 for the county's youth. The Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee has grown to an event with more than 45,000 attendees. It is estimated that the Calaveras County Fair generates approximately $25.5 million in revenues through hotels, restaurants, retail, payroll and other related revenues.

What an incredible night at the 2026 Calaveras County Fair Destruction Derby! The grandstands were packed, the hits were hard, and the excitement never let up as drivers battled their way through the mud and metal for a chance at derby glory.

🏆 Congratulations to Troy Dragomanovich, our 2026 Destruction Derby Champion!

Through determination, skill, and a car tough enough to withstand the punishment, Troy outlasted the competition and drove away with the championship title.

Recently I asked Matt Curtis what his favorite thing about the fair was and to write it out for me and this is what he said:
"I'd say, my favorite part of the fair this year, was to be able to, for the I think, 4th consecutive year in a row, work it. I wasn't able to work it Thursday but either way, I had fun working at the fair, I answered the phones, talked to some amazing people both on the phone and in the office, and just be there, I liked just being there, working, answering phones, using the radio if need be, because believe it or not I'm a radio fanatic, but that's besides the point, I liked just working there, and I had fun doing it, some people would complain about working normal office jobs and different jobs here and there, but in my view, this is a job worth having! I've worked the fair when I went through the calaveras transition program, and I loved it, I'm still working the fair in 2026 whilst out of said program, and still loving every bit of it, sure, some people may say, but matt, your just sitting there in an office for a few hours a day doing calls and what not, doesn't that get boring? My answer to that is, no, a hard no, I loved this job every sense I've started it, the people are nice, the place is nice, and fun on fair days, and just everything about it is worth working here, and I thank everyone for giving me the opportunity to work here, I could never ask for another job."
