Dr. Ralph Stanley on Banjo, Acrylic on Banjo, Finished

I saw Dr. Ralph Stanley in an old barn w/ church pews for seats while in high school - one of the best shows I've ever seen! Shout out to my great friend Justin Atkin who attended with me - still hate that our camera batteries died. Dr. Stanley was the best banjo picker in history. I'm honored to be doing a portrait of him on a banjo. This has been on my "to paint" list for a long time. Thanks to The Fiddle and Bow Music Hall for supplying the banjo. 🙏

I saw Dr. Ralph Stanley in an old barn w/ church pews for seats while in high school - one of the best shows I've ever seen!
