Last Tuesday we combined Dungeons and Dragons and art therapy through a guided garden visualization. Each participant created 4 panels and drew their reactions to 4 different scenarios. After we finished, we had to narrate the panels as if telling a story. Here are our results.

Ryleigh:" i fly over the gate with balloons, i pet the cyclops rabbit, i hide from the banana man, and i am greeted by my cats"

Abi: "When I made it out of the woods i saw a devil-bug. He told me it was his cabin and I simply asked if I could enter. To my surprise, he permitted. I entered the little cabin and proceeded to crawl into bed, wary after my long journey. I heard a loud noise that sounded...inhuman coming from the other room. I'm outta here, I shouted, as I hastily jumped out the window."

Lori: "I jump over the gate. I run from the bat eared creature. I hide from the ghost. Am frightened by the noise but it is only a cat"

Scot: I really liked when the sniper team lifted me over the gate.

Abby: "I am friends with the sasquatch, it's my only dream"

Yesterday we completed another extremely fun, but deep art therapy session. All of us got to know each other on a much deeper level by drawing 3 animals that represented how we moved or felt, how we think and finally how we feel. The goals of this exercise were to increase self-awareness, develop emotional resilience, and assist in identifying individual strengths. We had a blast during this session and my favorite quote that manifested itself during the session had to have been “I’m fat, I p**p and have tiny eyes.”

Pic 1 Abby: Lab, Wolverine, Bird of Paradise. “ I drew my animals in an eye because that’s how I SEE myself.”

Pic 2 Lori: Elephant, Hyena, Parrot (See quote in text)

Pic 3 Ryleigh: Sloth Peacock, Porcupine. Sharp on the outside, but cuddly and a real CUTIE when you get to know her.

Pic 4 Scot: Monkey, Koala, Turtle “I chose monkey for how I move bc I like to climb trees and throw my p**p. The turtle for how I feel bc I move at my own pace and can hide in my shell when I need to.”

Join us next Tuesday at 6 pm on google hangouts for the next session: Guided Garden Visualization. This session will take place from the comfort of our pals Abi and Quoc’s home with their cutie animals. This activity is sort of like Dungeons and Dragons meets art and I’m very excited!

Tomorrow's session at 6pm will focus on drawing animal guides. All you need is a pencil, some coloring utensils, a white sheet of paper and your brain! I believe we have about 5 spots left!

This session will increase self-awareness, develop emotional resilience, and assist in identifying individual strengths.

If this sounds fun, tune into the link below at 6pm! Do some art with us!

Yesterday we jumped back into art after taking a week off. We had a small, meaningful group over Google hangouts that felt like a phone call with close friends.

We all tried our best to draw a decent circle and create a feelings wheel. The main benefit to the wheel was to identify feelings to gain a mastery over emotions.

It was interesting to see the variety of emotions we decided to choose/help each other identify. Gassy was one of my favorites and we all included happy on our wheels.

Picture 1 Tier: "My favorite slice is joy because I love the balloons 🎈"

Picture 2 Abby: "Drawing the circle was easy, filling in the emotions was hard."

Picture 3 Lori: She started off naming Snow White's dwarves but then got into their cousins and distant relatives like confused and love

Picture 4 Scot: "It was really hard coming up with 8 feelings. I like how overwhelming turned out!"

Hi everyone! I'm going to move a majority of our art stuff to this page! I will still host activities live on and off, but the majority of hosting will now take place on Google hangouts. It will be a better platform so we can all interact and have conversations!

I will have 12 spots for Google hangouts each Tuesday. First come first serve!
