For the past 39 years, Project Challenge Playhouse has worked to fulfill the mission of providing quality performing arts training and events to K4-12th grade students in Anderson School District Five. Our mission has been one of equal opportunity, inclusion, and community. During our time serving the Anderson area, we have seen thousands of students, from all ages and backgrounds, enter our doors and become more confident, creative, and empathetic young people.
We are saddened to announce that after 39 years, Project Challenge Playhouse will be closing its doors. We have recently been informed that we have been denied usage of the theatre facility by the school board. Our operation for the past four decades has relied on a partnership with our local school district. All efforts to appeal the decision to the school board or to continue operations offsite have been exhausted. Due to this, we are no longer able to operate as we have previously.
We cannot thank you, our patrons, alumni, and students, enough for an incredible 39 years of theatre magic. The people are what has made P*P what it is.
We plan to go out in style, with a celebration of the past 39 years and all who have had a hand in it. Please stay tuned for information regarding a final “curtain call” for our P*P family.
