We’re stoked to have the American Packrafting Association supporting the 2026 International Packraft Film Festival!

APA does a ton of important work for the packrafting community through education, safety, stewardship, and helping more people connect with this sport in a thoughtful way.

And for everyone coming to the World Premiere at Bear Tooth Theatrepub in Anchorage on May 28th, APA will also be hosting a giveaway during the event.

Come support an incredible organization, watch a stacked lineup of packrafting films from around the world, and maybe walk away with some epic prizes while you’re at it.

Tickets are available through the Bear Tooth website. Link in bio.

❄️ OFFICIAL SELECTION // IPFF 2026 🛶

“Packrafting and Ice Climbing” by Takuya Tsuboshima is coming to the International Packraft Film Festival 🇯🇵

Winter river. Partially frozen. Full send.

Paddling through icy channels in Hokkaido, Japan, then stepping straight out of the boat and onto unclimbed ice walls — because why not combine your hobbies into one very committed day out?

Boat. Climb. Repeat. 🧊🛶🧗‍♂️

🎬 OFFICIAL SELECTION // IPFF 2026 🛶

“Why We Packraft” by Christian Reinwarth () is headed to the International Packraft Film Festival 😄

A chaotic little love letter to adventure — and a reminder that most good ideas start with: “this might be a bad idea…”

Filmed across Germany, Norway, Finland, Chile, Argentina, Denmark, Sweden, Austria and more...

High energy. Low certainty. Maximum fun.

Be honest — how many of your best trips started as a “bad idea”? 👇

Meet the Team: Emily Baker

Emily is one of the IPFF founders and our Road Show Director, which means she is the person helping this festival move into actual rooms full of paddlers around the world.

She works with hosts, venues, and local organizers to help bring IPFF showings to life — from the Anchorage premiere to every community screening that follows.

This festival has always been about more than just watching films. It is about getting people together, making space for packrafting stories, and helping this weird, wonderful little sport feel a bit more connected. Emily is a huge reason that happens.

Thanks to Alpacka Raft and RallyCrew for being our Global Title Sponsors, and to Utah Whitewater Gear for being our North America Regional Title Sponsor.

Stay tuned for showings near you and reach out if you’d like to host one!

🏔️ OFFICIAL SELECTION // IPFF 2026 🛶

“Down the Street” by Ken Meleta is coming to the International Packraft Film Festival 👀

Turns out you don’t actually need a 14-hour drive, a bush plane, or a “life-changing expedition” to have a good packrafting mission.

Sometimes the crew text says “river lap after work?” and suddenly you’re having the best day of the month.

“Down the Street” follows the Salt Lake crew getting after it close to home — proving local laps still absolutely count.

Tag your favorite “should we just go paddle?” friend 👇 and get 'em to a show of Packraft Film Fest near you!

❄️ OFFICIAL SELECTION // IPFF 2026 ❄️

“Off Season, Still In” by Sam Hooper is officially headed to the International Packraft Film Festival. Sam was the winner of the 2025 audience choice award, so you know it's going to be a good one 🙌

Not every adventure happens in perfect conditions. Sometimes the forecast is bad, the daylight is short, and everyone else has packed it in for the season…

…which is exactly why you go.

“Off Season, Still In” is a reminder that the best missions are often the ones that happen anyway. Quiet rivers, cold mornings, empty trails, and that feeling of being out there when nobody else is.

Who else secretly loves shoulder-season suffering? 👇🛶

“Shot Over Saddle” by Ryan Lucas is coming from New Zealand to the International Packraft Film Festival 👀

When flooding shuts down Plan A… you hike over a mountain pass into the headwaters instead.

High water, big rapids - Sam Sutton, Mike Dawson, and George Snook charging deep into the Shotover headwaters 🌧️🏔️🛶

Would YOU still put on the river in these conditions? 👇

⛰️ OFFICIAL SELECTION // IPFF 2026 🇨🇳

“Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan” by Otter Shuita is officially headed to the International Packraft Film Festival ✨

Eight days. Three rivers. One unforgettable journey through the folds of the Hengduan Mountains of China.

Following the Jinsha, Lancang, and Nujiang Rivers, this film moves through massive landscapes, remote valleys, and the civilizations shaped by them — the kind of trip that makes you feel very small in the best possible way.

This one’s a stunner. 🌊🔥

Greg is one of the IPFF founders and the video editor behind this year’s program. He takes the films selected from submissions around the world and shapes them into one cohesive show that reflects the range, creativity, and weird little magic of packrafting across the globe.

IPFF would not be what it is without Greg, and we’re really grateful to have him on the team.
