Are you interested in joining ACS? The 2026-2027 season auditions are coming up! They are being held Saturday, May 9th and Sunday, May 10th in Anchorage.
To schedule an audition, email David Hagen, ACS Conductor: [email protected]
The audition will consist of:
• vocalizing
• pitch memory (singing back a series of 4-5 pitches)
• diatonic and chromatic scale, ascending and descending
• "America the Beautiful," a ca****la, any key
• sight-reading (a high level of music reading ability is expected)
Rehearsals: Tuesdays, 6:15 - 9:15 p.m. beginning in August (at First United Methodist Church in downtown Anchorage). Two additional rehearsals are added on concert weeks.
Singer dues are $250 per season (scholarships available; high school and college students are not required to pay dues).

Alaska Chamber Singers closes our 40th Anniversary Season this weekend with A Baroque Banquet: Music of Purcell, Handel, and Bach, an evening of brilliance, beauty, and timeless splendor.

We are thrilled to feature special guest tenor Luke Honeck in a program filled with majestic choruses, expressive solos, and the rich drama of the Baroque era.

"Christmas with Alaska Chamber Singers" is almost here!
Join us this weekend for a festive and heartfelt program featuring cherished carols, exciting new Christmas works, and two beautifully contrasting Magnificat settings that open the concert.

We’re especially delighted to welcome guest classical guitarist Dr. Armin Abdihodžic, whose artistry brings warmth and a vibrant new texture to the ensemble. His performances with the choir are truly something special.

A quick tip:
Our Friday performance typically fills up the fastest. If you'd like a bit more space, Saturday night or Sunday at 4pm in Eagle River are wonderful choices.

You are invited to an afternoon of beautiful music with soprano Summer Rae Kuhns, tenor Luke Honeck, and pianist Susan Wingrove-Reed! The performance starts at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, at Anchorage Lutheran Church. You’ll hear pieces by Respighi, Clara Schumann, Schubert, Brahms, Wolf, and more. All musicians are graduates of ASD high schools and regularly perform with Alaska Chamber Singers.

Join us this weekend for our season finale, "Songs of Spring!" The program begins with Bach's "Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme," BWV 140, considered one of Bach's greatest cantatas. Followed by two fabulous works by Lili Boulanger, then back to Bach, with the lively motet, "Der Geist hilft unsrer Schwachheit auf," BWV 226 for double chorus. One chorus will be accompanied by a string quartet and the other by a double reed quartet.

The second half of the program features works written specifically for ACS by Grant Cochran, including the world premiere of a newly commissioned piece. Don't miss this delightful and diverse program!

Saturday, March 22nd at 7:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe or Sunday, March 23rd at 4:00 p.m. at St. Andrew Church in Eagle River.

Join us NEXT weekend for "Christmas with Alaska Chamber Singers!" We are pleased to once again share the holiday stage with our good friend, harpist Megan Bledsoe Ward. Kick off your holiday season with the joyful voices of Alaska Chamber Singers as we present our ever-popular annual feast of seasonal works, both unique and traditional. Ms. Bledsoe Ward will be featured in such works as Grant Cochran’s gorgeous "Mother’s Lullaby", selections from Britten’s "Ceremony of Carols", and Gabriel Fauré’s lush "Cantique de Jean Racine". As usual, we promise to sing some of your favorite carols, as well as a piece or two you probably haven’t heard before. There will be something for everyone!

Friday, December 13th and Saturday December 14th; 7:30pm at the St. Patrick's Parish and Sunday, December 15th at 4pm at St. Andrew Church in Eagle River.

Join us this weekend for the first concert of our 2024-2025 season! Experience Haydn’s joyous, picturesque, and highly dramatic oratorio: "The Creation". Using texts drawn from "Genesis" chapter one, the book of "Psalms", Milton's "Paradise Lost", and inspired by Handel’s "Messiah", it quickly became Haydn’s most popular work and was performed throughout Europe. Featuring Summer Rae Kuhns, soprano and Luke Honeck, tenor, along with special guest, renowned American baritone Richard Zeller. Don't miss this epic choral materwork!
