16 years. 🤎

Today we’ve officially been together longer than we’ve been apart, which is kind of insane to think about.

I don’t think I’ve ever properly introduced my husband over here, but if you know me, or anything I’ve built, you should probably know him too.

We met as teenagers. Became parents as teenagers. Grew up together while raising a family, moved around the world, made approximately a million questionable decisions, survived a whole military career, and somehow built this really beautiful little life along the way.

Now we’re 31. He’s retired from the military, I’m building a business and a creative life I genuinely love, we have three incredible kids, a home of our own, and a life that teenage us couldn’t have possibly pictured.

And through every version of me, he has been the person saying go for it. He has supported every weird idea, every dream, every pivot, every “okay hear me out…” that eventually became Charlotte Art Archive. 😂 So I suppose it’s only right that I finally introduce Mr. Art Archive.

We aren’t rich in every traditional sense of the word, but god, we are rich in life.

16 years of growing up, growing together, fu***ng up, figuring it out, and choosing each other through all of it.

This song came on while I was working recently and stopped me in my tracks.

I had it on repeat for months during one of the hardest periods of my life. Through burnout, a psychotic break, panic attacks, hosptial visits, all of it. At times this song genuinely helped keep me alive. It also became a little bit of a f**k you to all the standards and expectations I was killing myself trying to meet.

So hearing it today, while working in my studio space surrounded by my art and prepping for all these things that somehow make up my life now… got me a little.

Surprise, I still care about those expectations. Probably a bit too much. I just finally care about myself more.

Anyway. Look where I’m standing.
