It's Officially Holiday Rush Time!

Happy Friday Quilters!

Whew, it has been a busy week! Not going to lie to you, we are well into the Holiday Rush now at the studio! We're busy working away on your quilts, taking in your quilts and trying to keep our heads above the piles of quilts!

We have a few quick reminders/notices for you today and then I am headed out tonight for a weekend in Portland with my hubby and then off to a quilting retreat. I'll be in Kansas City next week for the retreat with an amazing group of fellow women business owners. There are about 30 of us (all own businesses like Doodle,) hosted by the Longarm League!

I always feel a bit bad for being out of town this time of year and leaving Jacie and Ashley to keep all our machines in line. BUT, these two ladies are amazing and they run the studio like bosses so I know things will be all good while I'm away.

Quilt Status Checks & Notices

Let's chat real quick about quilt return status and making sure you are getting notices from Doodle.

First, we have NEW Quilt Return Cards that we will do our best to remember to provide when you drop off your quilt(s). These tell you your return date range so that you don't have to call and check up on your status.

We really encourage you to take these, as phone calls and messages requesting status updates can really slow down our work flow. We know you're excited to get your quilt(s) back and we're working just as fast as we can so please keep your first finish date in mind when reaching out.

Second, we have seen an increase in folks missing their text notice when their quilt is done. These unfortunately come from a square number and not directly from our studio phone so they may get filtered into spam. So, if you're wondering why you haven't seen a text and your first date has arrived, please check those spam messages to see if you missed it.

NEW Label Style Available

You guys!! We have a NEW label style available for your quilt label needs. And honestly, these are so stinking cute!

Until now we really only offered square or rectangular labels, but they are such a challenge to attach to quilts. Keeping them straight and even with the sides of the quilt is the biggest hurdle, but they also have to be sewn on entirely by hand.

So - here's the scoop on how labels will work moving forward:

Yes, we'll still offer the embroidery and label prep for square and rectangular labels BUT we WILL NOT offer attachment.

We will now offer corner label embroidery and attachment. The stitching on these labels is completely invisible which makes them not just cute but more finished looking - and so much faster for us!

Updated Late Payment Policy

UPDATED LATE PAYMENT POLICY:
As a small business we appreciate prompt payment. If your invoice goes past 14 days outstanding a late payment fee of $50 will be added to your invoice. We understand that things come up, you're on vacation, etc. however, since we offer online payment options please pay your invoice within the 2 week window.

If you will be out of town for your estimated quilt return, please let us know at drop off so we can defer your quilt(s) start date. We also offer dropbox pick up if you need to pick up outside of our hours.

Phew! I always think these are going to be short and sweet but get to the bottom with a mile worth of information!

I know I always say "Thanks" down here but truly I mean it! This business has become so much more than I thought when I started with one machine in the corner of Seams Like Home. We will celebrate 5 years - YES 5 of being in this space next month and I cannot believe how time has flown. We'll see how our workload is but I would love to do something fun to celebrate.

Let me know if you want to come celebrate with us at the Studio and we'll put something together. In the mean time, take care of Jacie and Ashley next week while I'm out of town! I can't wait to get back to see what else you are all creating!

This is an oldie but goodie pic of your Doodle Crew!

I just wanted to take a minute to recognize what an amazing crew we have at Doodle! These ladies are a joy to work with, they put their hearts into the work we do and never fail to make our studio a fun space!

It has been such a crazy last few weeks for us and these ladies have powered through and made sure machines have kept running and quilts are getting finished!

How lucky am I that I get to work with these two ladies! 🥰

Just a quick update today!

We'll be CLOSED Thursday and Friday this week in order to manage some life things that our crew is dealing with! Time off, recovering from being sick, appointments for kids... you get it. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility.

As always our dropbox is still available and gets your quilts in our queue right away instead of waiting!

NEW Cuddle Pre-Order Option!

We LOVE using Cuddle at Doodle! We have some in stock options BUT we decided that there are just too many great options and you need access to them all! As you know, we have limited space in the studio and cannot stock every option in the space we have.

What we can offer is a pre-order like set up where you can still have access to all the items - it just might take a little longer to get them in your hands. I do have to place minimum orders, so these will be ordered in batches once we have enough orders to fill. I recommend grabbing a few at time if you know what you want - they'll come faster that way since I'll have a minimum order amount before the order goes in.

Please feel free to reach out if you have questions - we'll keep you posted on order dates and estimated arrivals as batches go in. This first round will have a cut off date of October 16th. The idea with this order is to make sure we have everything you all might want for your holiday quilts. SO, this first one is especially important if you want it for the holidays!

Well the time is has arrived..

We have our 2026 Holiday Deadline sorted out for you! Mark your calendars so that you can be sure to have your Gift quilts into the studio in time for the holidays!

A few other notes to keep in mind concerning our holiday cut-off dates and early January turn around times.

We will be CLOSED and out of the Studio from 12/24/26 through 01/05/27. That means that if you have quilting turn-around needs for early January, you will want to get your quilts in by our Holiday deadline. Once we're back it could be between 1-2 weeks to get your quilt back depending where you ended up in our queue.

As always, if you have your quilt tops finished up and ready for quilting now, BRING THEM IN! We are currently still working with a 4-5 week turn around. With a lot more of you choosing to take advantage of our finishing services, we have bumped out to 4 weeks on our minimum turn around.

If you have gift giving deadlines, please let us know when you drop off - we will do our best to accommodate if we can. Anything outside our minimum turn around is subject to a rush fee if you want a guaranteed return date. This is now a $50 minimum fee, plus a design tier up charge. Feel free to ask us about figuring this out if you need it for your quilt.

We DO NOT accept Rush deadlines in October, November or December due to the typical holiday rush.

We are looking forward to helping you all with your handmade holiday projects! It is always so fun to see what you all are creating for your loved ones!

I have many feelings about this weekend.. honestly, I’ve never been overly patriotic but I do think that part of caring for your country is wanting to change it for the better.

Right now I don’t live in a country I feel proud of. I’m disappointed when I see the news and see what our government does to not just Americans but other counties. I wonder all the time how I as one person can make changes to our country. I wish I had a step by step answer.. but I don’t.

What I can do is continue to speak up and speak out about the things I care about, things I want to see change and take action in the ways I can to help implement those changes. And above all else.. my space, my shop, my studio, my business, my house and my person will ALWAYS be a safe space for those the world marginalizes. And I WILL NOT be quiet.
