Big Fat Ride Big Fat Ride -A Fur Rondy Event. Saturday, February 28th, 2026. The Big Fat Ride is the biggest fattest fat bike ride in Anchorage, Alaska. Join the fun!

This Fur Rondy and Bike Anchorage event is open to all fat bike enthusiasts, visitors, race fans, and everyone who wants to join the fun in downtown Anchorage. Funds raised from the event will benefit Bike Anchorage and Fur Rondy. The Bib must be visible to ride, and helmets are required. For the safety of all fat bikers and your pets, please leave your dogs at home and enjoy the ride with your friends and family.

February 29, 2020 brought 176 fat tire enthusiasts together to enjoy the . Some were tall and some were small, some road on two tires, some balanced on one, but one thing is for sure, everyone had a lot of FUN! 🚲 🚲

Thank you to all the fat tire enthusiasts who have registered for the 2020 ! We have about 200 riders participating in the event today and registrations are still coming in!

1-00 pm Need your bib? Meet our awesome volunteers at Phillips Cruises & Tours, 519 W 4th Ave between 1pm - 2pm.

2:45 pm Have your bib already? Meet us downtown!
Stage on the SOUTH side of 4th Ave on E and F streets.
Wear bright colors - they may great photos! So does a Trex!

3:15 pm Get ready to ride! We are scheduled to start at 3:30 pm but if everyone is ready we will start early so be ready!

Course details: From 4th & D Street, follow 4th to Cordova, head south to 13th Ave and take a right. Follow 13th to A street and get on the trail that connects down to the Chester Creek Trail. Continue west to Westchester Lagoon where the mid-ride party will be happening! Stop and socialize and then continue on the Coastal Trail to the finish at 2nd & Christensen Drive.

All riders MUST display their bib and wear a helmet to participate. No dogs allowed for the safety of you and your pooch. Bike trailers (for little ones not for dogs) allowed but conditions may be soft so ski or fat tire recommended.

Our Story-Big Fat Ride

Join Bike Anchorage during Fur Rondy! The 2020 Big Fat Ride takes place on February 29th from downtown Anchorage right after the Iditirod Trail Invitational (ITI) Riders finish their ceremonial start. Register now, pick up your bib on Friday and join Anchorage’s fat tire biking community on Saturday February 29 at 3:15 PM in downtown Anchorage. The Big Fat Ride is an official Fur Rondy event open to all fat bike enthusiasts, visitors, race fans, and everyone who wants to join the fun in downtown Anchorage. The ride will start on 4th Ave. Staging begins at 2:45 PM in the alley off E Street between 4th and 5th Avenue. Riders must be nine (9) years or older to participate. Bib must be visible throughout the ride. Helmets required! For the safety of all fat bikers and your pets, please leave your dogs at home and enjoy the ride with your friends.
