Momentum Dance Collective is a power house of artists performing a diverse repertoire on stages and

Momentum's core values are rooted in the collaborative approach. We believe in the transformative power of art and the affect it has on positive social change. We believe in engaging our community through many different mediums and in a variety of opportunities in order to truly connect to our diverse city. We do this through work on stages, site-specific collaborations and performances, as well as many different types of volunteer efforts that bring us into new communities, in new ways.

Last week we concluded our summer open classes with our incredible board member, friend, and final guest Kasha J 🥹

She took us on a journey through Afro-Fusion and created a safe space to explore a new style, being a perfect ending to our series.

Thank you to all that have joined us this summer for our open class series, we are grateful to have an amazing dance community. Keep an eye out for upcoming class announcements and more opportunities to engage as we kickoff Season 19 for Momentum Dance Collective 🎉

Last week’s class with Irene was packed to the brim and filled us with so much joy and energy about how incredible this summer’s open classes have been. It’s truly been a pleasure sharing our space with so many of you this year 💛

Celebrate a day of dance with internationally recognized, Winifred Haun & Dancers, presented in partnership with Alaska Dance Theatre and Momentum Dance Collective.

Join us for workshops in contemporary dance, explore composition & choreography with the company, and enjoy a free afternoon community performance and artist conversation. Workshop registration is required. The afternoon performance and Q&A are free and open to the public -no registration necessary.

Mark your calendars! Season 19 auditions are happening on August 16th 10am-12pm at Momentum Studios (705 W 59th Ave Unit C) 🎉

Our audition is a two-hour master class designed to let us dance, have fun, and get to know each other. Momentum is a highly collaborative company so expect opportunities for improvisation, movement creation, and learning a mix of choreography styles ✨

The Details:

🕒 Time: Please arrive at 9:45 AM to fill out forms. We start promptly at 10:00 AM.

🗓️ Committed Season 19 Rehearsal Times: Tuesdays/Thursdays 6:00–8:00 PM and Sundays 10:00 AM–1:00 PM.

No preparation is needed! Just show up ready to explore new movement possibilities, share your artistry, and be yourself.

We wrapped up week 2 of Divine Feminine last Tuesday and wow was it amazing! We focused on really sinking into the movement and developing a character, imperative especially in a style like this that doesn’t always come naturally at first. These dancers absolutely crushed it 😍

Join us tonight, 7/14, at 6:30pm with our first lovely guest and friend, Katie O’Loughlin. This class is based in contemporary release technique and will include warming up, across the floor technique, and a phrase that compiles ideas from class. Come ready to move big and play with swing, spiral, and surprise!
