Fishing season is winding down, and as I clean gear and hang up the rods and reels I’m feeling that familiar shift from long days on the water to long days at the workbench.
Salmon have always meant more to me than just a catch. They’re part of my year, my rhythm, my food, my memories, and the wild places I love. Every fish carries a story of Alaska ;the rivers, the runs, the seasons, the people who depend on them.
That’s why creating salmon skin jewelry feels so personal. It’s a way of honoring the fish twice: once when I’m out there catching them, and again when I turn their colors and textures into something you can wear.
This year is especially meaningful because, for the first time ever, I’ll have pieces made from all five salmon species.
King, sockeye, coho, chum, and pink each with its own character, its own beauty, its own place in our state.
I’m so excited to be back in markets again, sharing the part of Alaska that means the most to me.
