It’s HOT at Disneyland this week!

SWIPE ➡️ to see some spots for taking a break in the blessed air conditioning.

❄️Enchanted Tiki Room: This 15-minute show not only has great AC, it’s got comfortable benches to relax on. You can even enjoy a Dole Whip while you watch!

❄️Main Street Cinema: Perfect for when everyone needs a little time to chill out in the middle of the day. Don’t forget to grab an iced coffee next door!

❄️Main Street Opera House: cold, dark theater with comfy chairs? Say less. The lobby here is truly the coldest spot in all of Disneyland. You don’t have to stay for the show—you can just hang out in the AC while pretending to be fascinated by early animatronics and concept art.

❄️The Golden Horseshoe: A perfect location to grab a snack and rest your feet. You can bring food from other dining locations here (or your own) to eat in the AC.

❄️Philharmagic: This 12-minute, 3D movie features Donald Duck wandering in and out of all our favorite Disney stories, accompanied by many of our favorite Disney songs

❄️Disney Junior Dance Party: Sit back and relax while Mickey and the gang throw a party with your little ones. This time of year, it’s an adorable Halloween-themed show.

❄️Animation Building: There’s so much to do and see inside this unassuming building in DCA. This is where you’ll find the Animation Academy, Turtle Talk with Crush, Sorcerer’s Workshop, and the Frozen meet and greet area.

FOR REALS THOUGH

The horse-drawn streetcar runs on a track. Which means when the horses pulling those things have gotta go….there’s only one place to do it.

For the record, custodial does clean it up VERY quickly but….true Disneyland pros know just to steer clear of the middle of those tracks (and….uh…it’s probably not water floating down there at the bottom of them, either).

This message is brought to you by: a mom who’s not interested is washing horse p**p off her kid’s shoes later.

Apparently my kid likes coffee now?!?

On our recent coffee crawl we discovered that Uriah’s been keeping a secret from us….while we discovered which new Halloween cold brews are the best and worst.

Full video is out on YouTube!

We love Mickey’s Trick and Treat!

You can find this adorable show for the littles in the Disney Junior Theater at DCA. If you want to see it, here’s what you need to know:

📍They perform multiple times each day. Check the Disneyland app or the marquee outside the theater on the day of your visit for showtimes.

📍You’ll want to get in line about 15 minutes or so before showtime. This show does fill up and they do cut off the line fairly often. Show up too close too showtime and you risk not getting in.

📍That being said, you probably don’t need to stress about getting there early enough for a front row seat. The floor seating gives everyone a good view AND they leave space up front for kiddos to dance. So you can always relax toward the back while your kid goes up front.

📍Yes, there is great AC in here. And a few benches around the edges if sitting on the ground isn’t going to work for you.

📍They do give out a small piece of candy on the way out.

Got questions about this show? Leave them for us in the comments!

Eclectic.

That’s probably the best word to describe the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. I was lucky enough to visit a preview yesterday before its official grand opening on September 22 and was surprised by exactly what I found inside.

The photos I’d been seeing posted online prior to my visit focused mainly on Star Wars—set pieces, costumes, concept art. And while those do, indeed, have a place in this museum; they actually cover a pretty small percentage of the total square footage.

The rest of it? A total eclectic surprise. One minute I was looking at a sketch from Picasso, the next a Far Side comic from Gary Larson, and around the next corner, a Norman Rockwell. There’s a whole section titled “Children’s Stories” that includes original work from a host of heartwarming classics. And then another whole section of Banksy pieces, including one that was created on site at this museum.

While one could say it gives a feeling of whiplash (and they wouldn’t be entirely wrong), I’d say it more lends itself to having something for everyone. The person who is coming purely for the Star Wars stuff may find themselves walking away disappointed. But the person who’s hoping their whole family will find something of interest at an art museum will find themselves delighted.

I’m incredibly grateful to the sweet friend who made my visit possible. Swipe through if you want to see some of my favorites from the day. Lucas Museum of Narrative Art opens to the public on September 22.

I survived my FIRST Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood!

I learned a lot on my first visit, but the most important thing I learned is that undercovertourist.com is the best place to head for everything you need for HHN.

Looking for helpful blog posts full of up-to-date info and advice? They’ve got some great ones.

Wanna save money? You can purchase discounted tickets right on their website that are the exact same ones as if you bought directly from Universal Studios.

Head to undercovertourist.com to find everything you need for a trip to Halloween Horror Nights this year!
