Snow White’s Grotto (also known as the Snow White Wishing Well and Grotto) is a charming hidden gem beside Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland’s Fantasyland.

In 1961, an anonymous donor gifted Walt Disney a set of beautiful white Carrara marble statues of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, sculpted in Italy by Leonida Parma. All figures were the same size due to a measurement error, so Imagineer John Hench designed the grotto with a cascading waterfall using forced perspective to create depth and illusion.

Walt personally dedicated the attraction on April 9, 1961, during a ceremony with children from 25 nations. He partnered with Variety Clubs International so coins tossed into the wishing well would support children’s charities. Guests hear Adriana Caselotti (original voice of Snow White) singing “I’m Wishing,” with the echo creating a magical effect.

This peaceful spot remains a favorite for wishes, photos, and quiet moments—over 65 years of Disney magic.

We caught Red out taking pictures with everyone! 🤩

Red is one of the most endearing supporting characters in Pixar’s Cars franchise. He’s Radiator Springs’ resident fire truck and the town’s only firefighter, living in the firehouse attached to the courthouse.

Red is modeled as a 1950s Torchy Truck Company fire truck, inspired by real-world 1960s fire engines—most closely resembling a mid-1960s Pirsch pumper, with some American LaFrance influences. He’s painted bright red (naturally), with the Radiator Springs Courthouse & Fire Department logo on his doors. His license plate reads “002.” He carries firefighting equipment like ladders and hoses, and he’s often seen with a gentle, expressive face on his windshield.

He’s a “gentle giant”—big, strong, and imposing in size, but with a soft, childlike personality that contrasts his powerful build.

Red is extremely shy, sensitive, and emotional. He doesn’t speak actual dialogue in the films (only grunts, sighs, cries, or siren sounds), which makes his feelings come through purely through animation and sound effects. He’s known for bursting into tears easily—whether over a sad story, damaged flowers, or mishaps in town. When overwhelmed, he often retreats to his fire station to hide. Despite this, he’s incredibly kind, loyal, and helpful. He lovingly tends to the town’s flowers and trees, using his hose to water them, and he’s always ready to protect Radiator Springs (like putting out tire fires). His friends in town are very protective of him.

An official description sums him up well: “Red may not be a fire truck of many words, but what he doesn’t say, he shows through his generous actions.”
