It’s my third year participating in Femme Locale at The Mill District Art Gallery! The group exhibition runs from 5/3/26-6/25/26 so make sure you go check it out. 💜

This year’s theme is Charmed which invited artists to explore how one uses charm to navigate a world designed by and for men. I decided to use this year’s theme as a prompt to create a new work specifically for this show which is something I haven’t done for some time! Thank you to and for having me back!!

Artwork details: single thread embroidery on vintage handkerchief, with cat whiskers. 13 x 14 inches. Approximately 50 hours of embroidery.

Art show alert!!! 😸 Free reception this Friday 5/9 from 5-7pm! This will be my second year participating in Femme Locale at The Mill District Local Art Gallery and will be presenting TWO works this year. One is a slightly older favorite - “Selfie Series”, embroidery on fabric. The second is a recent collage, “Winter Scene”, in which I was experimenting a bit with texture in my handmade paper along with a variety of other recycled materials. I hope you will come by the gallery to check out the works in person!

Here are more details from the gallery:

Please join us at this free reception for Femme Locale: SEEN | SCENE | CENE at The Mill District Local Art Gallery on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 5-7pm. Meet the artists while enjoying complementary light refreshments and warm community.
SEEN | SCENE | CENE is a group juried exhibition of artwork by local trans women, cis women, intersex, genderqueer, genderfluid, and non-binary individuals, on view in our Front Window Gallery.
Curated by Christine Texiera and Alexia Cota, this exhibition is in the spirit of the Thrive Together Network’s encouragement for women to show all in the same month - Taking. Up. Space initiative. Artists were invited to create new work or select work that responds to the exhibition title, SEEN | SCENE I CENE.
Exhibit runs Sunday, May 4 through Thursday, June 26, 2025.

Exciting news!!! I will be participating as a vendor in the Annual Holiday Arts Market tomorrow Saturday 11/2 from 12-4pm!! This event is hosted by The Mill District General Store and Local Art Gallery located in North Amherst, MA. In this post you’ll see just SOME of the artwork and other items I’ll have to offer including journals, artist prints and postcards, stationary sets, embroideries, and embroidered ornaments.
