UMass Cayena The student-run LatinX based dance team on the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus. Cayena performs bachata, merengue, salsa, palos and reggaeton.

Cayena was founded with the intention of celebrating Latin/Caribbean culture through dance and music. Cayena performs every year at Noche Latina, Miss LU and HASA/CASA. ¡HOLA! Bienvenidos de nuevo al campus and happy spring semester ☀️. Cayena has newwsssss…

Haven’t had the chance to be a member of Cayena yet? No hay problema. Join us for tryouts starting Tuesday 02/10 and Thursday 02/12 in the Fine Arts Center starting at 8:30pm. Don’t have any experience? Again, no hay problema, there is no experience needed. Encourage your friends to come too, everyone is welcome. Come excited and wear comfortable clothing 🕺🏼. Hope to see you there!

¡Cayena trae la cultura latina a UMass este semestre! Want to embrace Latin dance culture? Join us for tryouts starting Tuesday 09/11 at 8:45 PM in the FAC, where we’ll be teaching dances such as merengue, salsa, urbano, and/or more! There is no experience needed, so just come comfortable and ready. Tell a friend and we’ll see you soon!!

P.S. If that date doesn’t work for you you’re welcome to try out on 09/16 at the same time and place, or feel free to reach out, and we will do our best to accommodate you!
