Since I’m probably a new face, I wanted to introduce myself! I’m Miss Jessica, the creator and director of the Pioneer Valley Children’s Show Choir. I have been performing in one way or another for practically my whole life, and directing a show choir has always been a dream of mine. Music is one of my very favorite things in the whole world and I believe it is one of the best ways we can feel and share joy 🎶✨

A little about me: I was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV, and was the definition of a “choir kid.” As a teenager I sang in any choir I could fit into my busy schedule, but my performing passion was always show choir and musical theater. After graduating from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors in Exercise and Wellness, I worked as a health coach for a few years at a wellness center. Last year my husband and I relocated to Amherst so he could pursue his PhD at UMass, and we welcomed our first child to our family. We love Western Mass and the amazing community we’ve found here in Amherst - I hope this show choir will be a welcome addition to the Pioneer Valley and inspire the next generation of performers to share their joy through song and dance! 💃🏻

What IS Show Choir?

A performing ensemble that sings and dances at the same time! Most children who enjoy music do this intuitively, so signing your little performer up for an authentic show choir experience is the perfect way to encourage their talents and develop their skills! The Pioneer Valley Children’s Show Choir welcomes kids ages 5-11 regardless of their musical background - no experience is necessary and no auditions are required! Performers will learn the basics of vocal singing and dance moves, along with stage and performance skills. All the hard work pays off with a fun final show for family members to attend!

Show choirs typically perform songs from Broadway, Disney and pop culture. Our performers will learn the music and choreography to familiar and new songs that are kid-appropriate and intentionally uplifting. There is nothing more fun than sharing the joy of music and performing with those who love it most!
