While reading this article I agree with a lot of statements made by director Lee, but when it comes to Cody Woodruff I completely disagree, the statement made about him not being for the students at Iowa State University is false every time my organization the CNettes has come forth with a bill to senate there always feel like there’s tension in the room not towards the organization but towards the other senators because they are very cliquey and if one person in the room agrees with a bill you have five people who don’t and not a lot of senators on student government do their research on the organizations that are coming in front of them but one person who does every time is Cody Woodruff this man is amazing he speaks both facts and opinions and he also is very good at educating the people who don’t know he will sit in a reading of a bill and pull up all valuable and valid information about the orgs coming forth where as everyone else is basically basing their opinions off what the others in the room are saying I have personally stood in front of the senate and watched them argue with one another about things that had nothing to do with the questions that they have asked the representative of the organization and if they feel as though it’s not worth their time funding then your org has to find another route and even when trying to talk to other organizations and if someone from senate that disagreed with your organization bill is there then they all have to say no too but another huge problem that they have is the people that have a voice and don’t use it when voting there’s yes no and abstain voting abstain is honestly saying no and if 2/3 of a vote is needed and you turn around and come to the organization and say I would have voted for you all but.. that’s like a huge slap in the face like the hard work that all of the student organizations on campus have put in doesn’t matter and that shouldn’t be the case the Iowa state student spends a lot of money to go here and be apart of organizations so why isn’t it possible for those organizations to use the money set aside for them to use it for what they deem necessary uniforms trips printing what ever it may be but honestly something needs to change and it need to change fast because from my point of view student government senators don’t stand for anything but themselves but Cody Woodruff stands for everyone
