Wilderness First Aid Workshop

When 911 isn’t an option, knowing what to do can make all the difference.

Join Rec Services November 7–8 for a hands-on Wilderness First Aid Workshop focused on the skills needed to care for an injured person in a remote setting. Expect some lecture time, but most of the workshop will be spent practicing through realistic mock scenarios.

-Learn essential wilderness first aid skills
-Hands-on practice & mock scenarios
-NOLS WFA Certification upon completion

📅 Tuesday, Sept. 1 or Wednesday, Sept. 2
📍 SE Intramural Fields — across from Jack Trice Stadium
👥 Teams of 2 — any combination of players welcome!
🏆 Each team will play at least two matches

Whether you call it bag toss or co****le, come toss some bags, compete for the championship, and have some fun!

Tournament brackets take approximately 2 hours from the first round through the championship, so plan accordingly if you’re also signing up for Spikeball.

Grab a partner and hit the court for Iowa State Rec Services’ Intramural Spikeball Tournament! Spikeball is a fast-paced, 2-on-2 game where teams rally by hitting the ball onto a small circular net — quick reactions, teamwork, and a little competitive energy go a long way! 🔥

⏱️ Each tournament bracket runs approximately 2 hours

Recreational Brackets

Only 16 teams per bracket! Spots are first come, first served, so sign up ASAP to get the bracket you want.

Indian Cave Backpacking Adventure | September 19–20

Leave campus behind and spend a weekend exploring the great outdoors on our Indian Cave backpacking adventure!

Hike scenic forest trails, discover unique rock formations, and camp beneath the stars in one of the Midwest’s most picturesque natural areas. No backpacking experience is necessary! The trip will be led by trained trip leaders who will guide you throughout the adventure and help make the experience approachable and fun for everyone.

Most meals will be provided, so you can focus on enjoying the experience and exploring the outdoors.
