🌡️ It's a scorcher! Unfortunately, our historic Farm House doesn't have air conditioning (or enough fans for everyone to fight this Iowa heat). To keep our staff and visitors safe and comfortable, Farm House Museum will be closed today, September 1.

We'll be back open soon! Stay cool out there, Cyclones. 🌾

Still honoring our ISU museums heritage 50 years later!

The Farm House museum opened on campus on July 4, 1976 - fifty years ago this summer. The Farm House, the first building built on Iowa State's campus, was renovated and refurnished to represent the early years on campus.

Graduate student Lynette Pohlman is shown in this photo moving a spinning wheel and Norwegian chest into the museum. Pohlman recently retired after 55 years of service with University Museums.
