Can’t wait to have Dr Janet Galvan with the ISU treble choirs!!
We are excited to have Guest Clinician Dr. Janet Galván here on Monday, February 23 at Simon Estes Music Hall Room 24 from 1:10-2:00pm! Dr. Galván will be leading a Music Educator Q & A. All are welcome!
Dr. Janet Galván has empowered and inspired choral conductors, choral singers, and educators nationally and internationally. She has contributed to the invigoration of the choral art through innovative programming, staging, rehearsal techniques, and choral conducting workshops at Ithaca College, where she was the Director of Choral Activities. Her singers are noted for creating a deep connection with audiences and many of her former students are now conducting university and professional choirs.
Galván has been a guest conductor and clinician in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Brazil, and throughout Europe, as well as at national conferences and the World Symposium on Choral Music. She was on the faculty for the Carnegie Hall Choral Institute, the Transient Glory Symposium, and the Oberlin Conducting Institute. Galván has two choral music series with the Roger Dean Publishing Company and is the series advisor to Latin Accents, a series with Boosey & Hawkes. As a vocalist, she was a member of the Grammy Award-winning Robert Shaw Festival Singers.
