Ames Municipal Band

Ames Municipal Band Performing concerts at Bandshell Park in Ames, Iowa every Thursday evening in June and July.

About playing in the band:
As the first concert approaches each year, there is an increase in folks inquiring about playing in the band. It is important to note that our roster stays fairly constant, as is evident by recent recognition of members who have played in the band for over 60 years. Unlike some bands that are all volunteer, the Ames Municipal Band is funded through the City of Ames, so i

ndividuals are not allowed to "sit in" on a concert without approval and compensation. We typically have our roster and schedule set for the season by late April, however, there are a small number of folks who are called upon as subs during the season to fill out sections when regular members cannot perform. If you are interested in playing in the band, please send an email to Mike Golemo at [email protected] with your email, cell phone number, and playing experience.
