Jeanne's statement about her work: "Walking the fields and pathways of our land, the colors, contrasts, textures and lines of trees, grasses, sky, river are impressed on my mind. Year after year, they repeat. Printmaking is an especially good medium for repeating images and for translating images to a kind of language. The lines are etched on a metal plate, or carved into a lino block, Hundreds of tiny lines transform the outlines of a space into a special, almost magical place. The plate is etched, inked in black, wiped and and then rolled with thin layers of color. Areas wiped out after each roll allow for pure colors. It never happens quite the same way. Each pull is a revelation, each print is unique."
