🎀 MONDAYS WITH MISS HANNAH: A LITTLE DOLLY WISDOM 🎀
With Dolly Week coming up at the studio, I’ve been thinking about why I’ve always loved Dolly Parton so much and it has very little to do with the rhinestones, big hair and fabulous outfits. ✨
Dolly knew who she was.
She was never been afraid to be different. She worked incredibly hard, but she didn’t take herself too seriously. She believed in dreaming BIG while staying humble. She celebrated other people. She gave back. She led with kindness. And she never felt the need to dim her sparkle just because someone else might think it’s “too much.”
And honestly, those are lessons I hope our dancers carry with them long after they leave the dance studio.
💖 Know who you are. You don’t have to dance, look, dress or act exactly like the person beside you to be successful.
✨ Don’t be afraid to stand out. The things that make you different may end up being the very things that make you special.
💖 Work hard for what you want. Dreams are wonderful but they still require showing up, practicing, listening, learning and trying again.
✨Stay humble and kind. Talent will get you noticed. Character is what people will remember.
💖 And never shrink yourself to make someone else comfortable. This one is extremely important to me personally. There is room in this world and in this studio for every dancer to shine.
Dance teaches so much more than steps. My hope is that we are raising young people who are confident enough to know who they are, humble enough to keep learning, and kind enough to help someone else shine too.
So this week, we’re taking a little advice from Dolly:
“Find out who you are and do it on purpose.” 💗
Now add a little rhinestone to it. ✨
