Public Update

As we strive to maintain transparency regarding the expenditure of public tax dollars for the Amelia Recreation Center, we would like to provide an update regarding the post shared Friday morning concerning the labor charges associated with recent repairs.

Following the original post, we were contacted by the company owner to discuss and resolve the discrepancies involving the additional charges. After further discussion, both parties reached an agreement regarding the revised invoice amount.

Once the new invoice amount was agreed upon, the original post was removed.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding as we work to ensure that public funds are handled responsibly and that accurate information is provided to the community.

All right fight fans next Saturday, August 8 at the Amelia recreation center. You can come see some real live boxing. Or technically participate in real life boxing if you think you're tough enough. Drop all Brawl 6. All sanctioned by the La. State Commission. Tickets are on sale now. Don't wait to get your great seats. Amelia Recreation will be selling concessions.

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT. There has been an ongoing issue with alcohol on recreation grounds. There have been posted signs with park rules stating NO ALCOHOL AND NO GLASS. This facility is for everyone to enjoy and use, but drinking around a playground area cannot be tolerated . The St. Mary sheriff office are making rounds to stop this and enforce penalties. We also have video surveillance throughout the entire park. The issue as of late has become overwhelming as groups are gathering to drink and this is to advice it will be handled with with consequences from the law.
